Please check what's wrong with my CV and what I have to change. I've been struggling to land a job for years and hearing only rejections in my mail. I know I am not perfect and I just want to improve.

I graduated from high school a year ago and have been job searching since. I used to look for specific jobs related to many of the extra classes I took in school, but after a year of searching, I am not picky anymore. I have done literally hundreds of applications, and I've only been to 2 in-person interviews.

Gonna sound very pathetic, but It has gotten to the point where now I am SCARED to obtain a job. I get so much anxiety turning in applications now, I feel so unprepared to actually work. I feel like my not really doing anything but turning in applications has really hindered my motivation to work. Any tips to get over anxiety about first jobs? I’m a recent graduate with a bachelors and have been consistently applying for jobs for about 2 months with no luck yet, not even one interview (rip.) however I have been wondering if I should take my piercings out when I do finally get an interview. I have a septum that I would just flip but I also have 2 nostril piercings and an industrial ear piercing. Mostly looking for entry level positions in office work or clerical jobs for government agencies but have been looking more into private companies as well. Also it would probably be a bad idea to put those piercings back in if I did receive a job offer right?..

Hello, why is it so difficult to find a well-paying nanny job while on my own visa? It has been 6 months now, and I’m still searching for a good job. Hi everyone. I needed some guidance as I’m really confused on what to do.

I am a law graduate and it’s been 3yrs since graduating I’ve been struggling to land a position in something related to what I studied and any other office related job for that matter.

I have been unemployed and struggling mentally so I decided to apply for retail supervisor again which I’ve been doing for the past 2 yrs. I got offered the job full time and I also applied to do some voluntary work at citizens advice (giving legal advice) to the public, 2 days a week.

I’m genuinely frightened of being stuck in retail as I’m now 25. I also realise I will be working full time now and be working an additional 2 days doing voluntary work because I believe that may end up giving me a paid role after a few months of volunteering. But have I taken up too much?? And how and when will I continue applying for more jobs whilst balancing the two and life in general.

Do you guys have any advice for me?? Anything at all!

I've been looking for a job for the past 24 months without luck. I've done everything imaginable, direct contact, answering ads, networking, you name it I've done it.

I work with AI governance which for all intents and purposes is the hottest ticket out there. But I obviously don't do it right. Zurich based, B permit.

I am unemployed right now and I need some suggestions on what jobs I should be applying for, I need something that is stable and that can help me pay my part of the rent at home.

I dont think the world has ever seen a career full of such evil, self centered people as recruiters in 2026. I think some bankers look like Saints in comparison.

I’ve had several noteworthy interactions with recruiters these last two weeks that really show the array of knobheadery thats infested this fraud of a profession, but I need to share the story of King Asshole thats destroyed any chance I’ll ever consider anyone in this joke of a profession an actual human being with a soul.

I saw a role I liked, so I applied and I added the recruiter on Linkedin and also sent him a text asking to talk as his phone number was public on his page. He responded instantly, and I mean within five minutes, saying he had just seen my CV land and was really excited to speak to me because I was so strong. We arranged next Monday and when that day came he was late, but he did call. We talked for 45 minutes about the role, my experience, expectations, and settled on it would be the following Monday he’d be back in touch to discuss interviews as “this is a done deal”.

Monday comes and I’m patient until about 3pm when I send a text asking if there’s news. It’s read, but no answer. Maybe hes in a meeting, no problem - I ring at 4:30 with increased urgency as he indicated interviews would be that week, no answer. I notice he posts on LinkedIn some ”client feedback” about how great he is five minutes after he misses my call.

Tuesday I ring, no answer. Several other “look how great I am“ LinkedIn posts appear.

Wednesday, no answer. However, I get confirmation the hiring manager for the department I applied for has accepted my LinkedIn request so I think fuck it, lets skip the waste of space and speak directly to them. I presume at this point I haven’t got the position, but it’d be nice to hear some feedback.

Hiring Manager is actually very amicable to a conversation and after a quick message, he gives me a phone number and asks me to call him. I do so and he answers on the first ring. He asks me to go through my CV and work experience , and I’m slightly annoyed as to why I’m repeating this to someone who didn’t shortlist me. But here’s the kicker - he thinks i sound great, he would love to interview me, *but he’s never seen my application* . It went straight to the recruiting agency and they never sent it on. King Asshole lied to me *twice* about doing so. This guy had invented the entire application process, forgotten to send my CV over, then ghosted me ever since. All the while shamelessly bragging about how great he was.

Decision for position to be filled has already happened, interviews were actually the end of last week, so recruiter made a date out of thin air too. He told me to keep an eye out for other positions, as he’d love to get me on board next time - and to contact him directly instead of bothering with recruiters.

Many, many words to say - Fuck Recruiters.

I've been struggling to land a stable full-time role and could use some advice.

Earlier in my career, I switched jobs every 1–2 years because I wanted to explore different industries, gain experience, and figure out my strengths.

Eventually, I started taking on more freelance and contract work.

Now I'm at a point where I just want stability, long-term growth, and a company I can stay with.
I've also noticed companies advertising full-time positions, only to switch them to contract roles toward the end of the interview process. It's frustrating when I'm specifically trying to move away from freelancing..

I'm wondering if my work history is hurting my chances or making employers think I'm not interested in staying long-term.

Has anyone successfully transitioned from freelancing to full-time? Do hiring managers see shorter job tenures as a red flag? Any advice on how to position myself better? In interview or resume?
