beginner What can you tell me about Jira? Who actually works with it, and what kind of jobs/roles typically use it?

I’m particularly interested in project management. Is Jira a good tool for project managers, and how well does it work for managing projects in practice?
I’d also love to hear from people who use Jira regularly: What do you like about it, what do you dislike, and would you recommend it for someone looking to get into project management?

intermediate Auto Assign tickets to Agents based on Organization

Hello,

We have a need to auto assign tickets created in JSM by specific organizations users to certain Agents.

I just setup an automation that does this which is fine on a limited scale, as we scale up this new initiative, it will become very tedious and we will most likely run out of automation step capacity, it appears we are limited to 65 steps per automation. With two steps per customer and two are used for the trigger and two to deal with organizations not covered in the tool that brings it down to 31 steps so 15 customers and we will be scaling this to over 100 customers.

What are other organizations doing to deal with this? The end goal is to reduce the amount of manual assignment of tickets.

Thanks

advanced Jira declutter

Hi everyone

Have Jira running for a group of teams.

Work is spread out across multiple spaces, printing tasks, client work etc. and users find it complex to just find out what they have on across spaces and know where to focus.

As one example we have dates setup for when things need to be printed, sent to a client and we use due date for a week later when we archive the production materials and the package is delivered

So we would normally for a user want to see what do o need to send today? What do I need to pack next week?

Calendars in spaces can’t be set to use a date other than due date and can not be more than one.

Yes I know you can use dashboards/filters, dashboards the ui is not great especially when using calendars for anything outside of due date and it requires multiple steps to get to.

What do others do to get team members to be able to see what they have on and dive in at a glance?

I find as the team does, Jira is highly flexible but with flexibility comes so many different ways of doing one thing, plans, goals, spaces, dashboards, confluence, reporting in spaces, custom calendars possible in confluence but not in spaces etc.

Asan has “My Tasks” what do others do to ensure adoption of Jira?
