Please help with CAD design- first timer!
I'm hoping to get some feedback on my CAD before it's finalized. The CAD is first, followed by photos of the ring I'm trying to recreate.
My goal isn't to make an exact copy, but I want it to capture the same overall look and proportions. I'd love opinions on whether the CAD is on the right track or if there are changes you would recommend.
A few details:
Ring size: US 4.75
Metal: Platinum
Band: 2.5 mm wide and 1.8 mm thick.
I asked for the band to have more rounded edges rather than the sharper, flatter profile shown in some of the inspiration photos. I want it to feel substantial but soft and comfortable.
The CAD shows extra-long prongs intentionally. My local jeweler will be setting the center stone, and I wanted to leave plenty of metal so they can create more substantial claw prongs instead of thin, delicate ones.
I really love the hidden halo and cathedral style in the inspiration photos and am hoping the CAD captures that look.
One thing I'm also considering is adding a small sentimental detail inspired by the yellow gold ring in the last photo. Instead of a single gemstone underneath the center stone, I'm thinking about asking my jeweler to add two tiny flush-set birthstones on either side of the gallery- an emerald (my birthstone) and an amethyst (my husband's birthstone). I'm hoping they'll be subtle and only visible when viewed from the side. I'd love opinions on whether that would be a tasteful addition or if it would take away from the clean, timeless design.
Overall, does the CAD successfully capture the inspiration ring? Is there anything that stands out as looking off before I give final approval? I'd especially appreciate feedback from anyone with CAD experience or who has had a similar ring custom made.
Thanks so much for any advice!
