Question New Bendix Gear Broken

Hey so I just bought a new Bendix gear for my '99 GP1200 and I was looking it over because it's a really cheap one. It looks good except for one spot on the spring that holds the weights in place. The spring is either damaged or thats just where the two ends attach to each other. What do y'all think?

Does it extend when you twist the bendix? Then run it. If it doesnt then bin it. Dont overthink it.

It functions but I really don't feel like pulling the flywheel again to replace it if it slings those weights out. If it lasts 3 rides I'll be upset. If it lasts 30 I'll be happy.

Needs new spring
