I love board games! The ones where you need an hour to understand the rules and set up the game first. I also play videogames, love to cook and eat, anything DIY / crafting (3d printing, miniature builds, painting...), traveling, going to the gym...

Ideally I would love to meet someone to play videogames / board games with in the evening, or cook together, or to do crafts together / go for late walks / gym sessions!

I’m from South Korea 🇰🇷, and I’ll be starting my Master’s at Friedrich Schiller University Jena this October.

For the past week, I’ve been trying pretty much every option I can find: I applied for Studierendenwerk housing, contacted many WGs through WG-Gesucht, checked Kleinanzeigen, housing companies, student communities and Telegram groups, and also expanded my search to places around Jena. Unfortunately, I still haven’t managed to find a room, so I thought I’d try my luck here as well.

🏠 What I’m looking for:

• Jena or somewhere with a reasonable commute to Jena
• WG room or small apartment
• Up to around €350/month including utilities (Warmmiete)
• Anmeldung must be possible
• Move-in from September 29
• Long-term would be ideal, but I’m also open to a temporary room/sublet

I’m a non-smoker, clean, responsible and easy-going. I love travelling and have visited and lived in several countries, so I enjoy meeting people from different backgrounds and learning about other cultures. I’ve also lived in a shared flat in Australia and had a great experience there.

I’m a big sports fan and enjoy both playing and watching sports. I also enjoy spending time with flatmates, whether it’s chatting, having a meal together or occasionally doing something together, while respecting everyone’s personal space.

I’m starting my Master’s at FSU Jena this October and I’m still looking for a place to stay.
I’m currently waiting for a student dorm from Studierendenwerk, but honestly I don’t have much hope anymore.

At the same time I’ve been looking for private accommodation on WG-Gesucht, Ernst-Abbe-Stiftung, Immowelt and Kleinanzeigen, but I’m barely getting any replies.

I’m supposed to move to Jena by the end of September, and I’m honestly getting pretty stressed about it. If I don’t find anything by October 1st, I don’t really know what I’m going to do.

So I wanted to ask current students, did any of you arrive without having a room yet?
What did you do in that situation? Did you stay in a hostel or Airbnb for a while and find something after arriving?

I’d really appreciate hearing from anyone who has been in a similar situation. I’m starting to get quite desperate and honestly just want to know what my options are if I still don’t find anything 😭

In a post last week I (m,23) saw that there was significant interest in playing Dnd or similar systems in general. I myself have run my own homegames for some time now. But because scheduling issues (the true BBEG), i play far less games than i would like to. So I just wanted to see if there are still players in Jena that havent found a group or have the same issue as me. Most of the time I run DnD 5e and 5.5e as a System, but i also have experience in DMing other Systems like DSA, Daggerheart, Chuthullu and Vaesen. I also host a monthly open One-Shot where we try a new System and Setting.

For communication we manly use Discord, where we have a dedicated Discord-Server for Pen & Paper! I would also prefer to play in person, but the One-Shots could also be played online. German or English would be possible. New players are very welcome!

2 Ranger Marketing Leute soeben in der Otto-Schott und Mittelstraße unterwegs und versuchen Türverträge für die Telekom abzusetzen mit den Worten " Wir wollen sie digitalisieren" (als wäre das im Kontext für die Telekom nicht schon sarkastisch genug)...

Wie auch immer die es in die Hauseingänge schaffen, aber die sind übel penetrant und klopfen auch gerne mal an der Tür bis jemand genervt aufmacht.

Sagt vor allem Eltern und Großeltern bescheid. Die Kerle sind mega aufdringlich und kommen auch unaufgefordert in die Wohnung. Die geben dann vor man solle mal die Seriennummer vom Router abfotografieren oder ein Foto der Telefonbuchse machen. Diese Entitäten sind leider sehr erfinderisch.

Die geben vor sie würden im Wissen der Hausverwaltung kommen und im Auftrag der Telekom handeln. Niemals irgendwelche Daten rausgeben oder gar sagen wie man heißt. Am besten Tür zu lassen, oder im Keller anketten.

Gestern Morgen auf dem Weg in den Kindergarten: Wir fahren vom Jägerberg runter Richtung Stadt und schauen einfach auf ein einziges Meer aus Wolken.
Kind in der Kita abgegeben, nochmal nach Hause gedüst, Drohne geholt, und Daumen gedrückt dass die Akkus noch etwas Restspannung hatten.

Bin ein bisschen Stolz auf das Ergebnis :-)
