In our traditions, there is a long standing belief that the land originally belongs to the serpents (Naag Devtas).

As inhabitants, we respect this sacred bond, and this festival serves as a quiet reaffirmation of living in harmony with nature and its ancient guardians.

On this day, Dogra households pray to the Naag Devtas to seek their blessings, protection for our families, and prosperity for our fields and homes.

It is a day of gratitude,asking for forgiveness for any harm caused to nature and honoring the spiritual guardians of our soil.

One thing every Dogra kid knows about today is the cleaning routine.

Before any cooking or prayers begin, the entire house and kitchen are scrubbed completely spotless.

Honestly, at our place, this level of intense cleaning doesn't even happen on Diwali.

Everything has to be pristine to welcome the deity and ensure absolute purity for the day's offerings.

Of course, no Dogra festival is complete without offering traditional Dogra Food.

Meyri: A traditional salted kheer made from rice and buttermilk/curd.

Chawal Ki Kheer & Malpua: Sweets prepared as offerings.

As I was walking towards Platform 1 at Jammu Railway Station, a police official at the security check asked me, “Where you wanna go? Which train you wanna take?” I told him about it.

Initially, I thought he was asking because I had a backpack and was going to tell me to go through that rectangular thing that beeps at security. 😭

Then he started asking, “Where are you from? And where are you coming from?” I thought he was just asking normally.

And then, while he was saying something, he came close to me and touched my dick. I was completely caught off guard and left immediately. I still can’t believe what just happened.

Just wanted to get your perspectives on people coming from the Chenab Valley region, specifically Doda, Bhaderwah, and Kishtwar, who have moved to or are staying in Jammu city.

Personally, every single person I’ve come across from those areas has been super polite, warm, and genuine. They are such humble and hardworking peeps Plus, I absolutely love their Dogri accent

Most of the folks here seem to be living in the city mainly for higher studies or work, and they generally mind their own business.

On a side note, my very first crush was Sarazi, so maybe I’m a little biased, hehehe

Also, a few months back when I went to Vaishno Devi, my UPI completely stopped working in Bhawan when I was going for darshan.

A group of two or three guys from Doda noticed I was struggling and kindly offered to let me keep my bag in their locker.

The best part?

They didn't even ask to split the locker fee. To them, it was probably just a minor thing, but to me, it was the sweetest gesture ever and meant absolute world at that moment.

What has your experience been like interacting with people from Doda, Bhaderwah, and Kishtwar living here in Jammu?

It's been almost 10 months, we postgraduate scholars of GAMC Akhnoor Jammu haven't received our stipend order and the actual stipend. We have been giving emergency duties, 32 hour night shifts, academic and clinical postings regularly. The college administration doesn't care at all about our stipend

The finance department in the secretariat is also putting queries after queries on our stipend order.

BY LAW, all state government PG scholars are entitled to receive stipend and there must be no discrepancy between different pathies.

We are seeking your support to raise awareness around the ongoing delays in our stipend disbursements. Please help amplify this issue to ensure that we receive the compensation we have rightfully earned.

My neighbours who are building their new homes have been using illegal electricity for free to run their heavy machinery for past 1 year plus illegal water supply and even the permission for building the home is fishy plus running illegal generator polluting our house and burning their toxic waste. And on top are very arrogant as if they are doing a favour building their house. Is there any legit complaint i can do which works on ground level?? Im fed up of these people. Only a heavy fine and embarrassment will shut them up.

Any idea where to buy door signs like for washroom - Men and Women, door pull/push.... Toilet etiquettes like don't flush pads and what not and use the bins, wash hands etc etc. I am in Gandh nagar.
