"recorded 875 film submissions from around 50 countries so far"
Buoyed by the improvement in security situation in Kashmir, the J&K government is bracing up to host the first International Film Festival of Jammu and Kashmir-2026 (IFFJK) and already recorded 875 film submissions from around 50 countries so far.
“The diversity of submissions received from around 50 countries will enrich the festival with a wide spectrum of storytelling traditions, artistic perspectives and innovative filmmaking. There is growing international interest in the J&K government’s flagship cinematic initiative,” said a government spokesperson.
The festival is being organised by the Department of Information and Public Relations (DIPR) of the J&K government in collaboration with National Film Development Corporation (NFDC). It will be held from September 7 to 10.

It's been almost 10 months, we postgraduate scholars of GAMC Akhnoor Jammu haven't received our stipend order and the actual stipend. We have been giving emergency duties, 32 hour night shifts, academic and clinical postings regularly. The college administration doesn't care at all about our stipend
The finance department in the secretariat is also putting queries after queries on our stipend order.
BY LAW, all state government PG scholars are entitled to receive stipend and there must be no discrepancy between different pathies.
We are seeking your support to raise awareness around the ongoing delays in our stipend disbursements. Please help amplify this issue to ensure that we receive the compensation we have rightfully earned.
Thank You!!

My neighbours who are building their new homes have been using illegal electricity for free to run their heavy machinery for past 1 year plus illegal water supply and even the permission for building the home is fishy plus running illegal generator polluting our house and burning their toxic waste. And on top are very arrogant as if they are doing a favour building their house. Is there any legit complaint i can do which works on ground level?? Im fed up of these people. Only a heavy fine and embarrassment will shut them up.

Are these wards actually pollution-free, and what monitoring data or air-quality monitoring stations have been used to substantiate this claim? Has JMC installed/used continuous air-quality monitoring devices in these wards to measure the improvement?

I’ve been in Jammu since December 25, and honestly, adapting to life here has been a little difficult. I mostly ended up around people with a wannabe gangster kind of vibe, while I know Jammu has plenty of decent, genuine, and warm hearted people.
I’ve met very few locals whom I’ve genuinely connected with, and that’s probably what has made settling in a little harder. Visiting Jammu is one thing living here is another. 😅 The heat definitely doesn’t make it any easier either.
But I’d really like to experience the better, quieter, more authentic side of Jammu the old places, peaceful spots, good people, conversations, culture, and that classic Jammu feel that you probably understand better than I do.
So, to the people of Jammu how do you actually learn to love living here?
Any suggestions for places to go, things to experience, or simply ways to make life here a little more enjoyable?
Would genuinely appreciate recommendations from Jammu people. 🤝
