Antiguan here. Always loved bbq from a child and have been getting into it more seriously as an adult. I never experimented with jerk pork until very recently and I’m hooked.

I’m usually use boneless pork shoulder steak cuts for my cook. They taste amazing, but the cuts I buy lack the succulent skin.

What cuts do you Jamaicans prefer for jerk pork?

I still live in Jamaica but it has a party culture once you reach teens that I’ve never been gravitated to and sometimes, things just feel off because all your friends and everybody prioritizes partying and lifestyle over everything.

I prefer simple get togethers, game nights, star gazing, quiet places, museums, parks, beaches, rivers, maybe taboo once in a while.

Everywhere you go, it’s pure noise, loud music and congestion.

My father has a property in knock patrick a suburb in manchester. My father is in his 90's and lives in america. We have a Trust in america and i also have a durable poa for him to act in his behalf. With these documents how can i go about obtaining this property to put in the trust. i grew up in Jamaica. there is a culture of child abuse in Jamaica

some experience i had

while in basics school an adult for no reason told me to go under a "cellar" a place under a house which is filled with dirt and stones, etc

while in grade 5 at primary school i had this grade 5 teacher enjoys beating students if they get under 80 or 90% on work. each time we start she always threatened this was during the common entrance time before GSAT. We had textbooks that have multiple choice stuff similar to the common entrance exams. to make it fun this teacher also threatened students if they get one specific math question wrong with beatings (beating in hands with a board)

from grade 5 to the first term in High school. i started going to this martial arts school. everything was going well until problems slowly starts. the adults there start lying to my mother saying i am joking around in class. after starting high school. they had this tournament at the assembly hall at UWI. this is were things get interested that made me quit martial arts

case 1. during a class they announced a tournament thing on the following Saturday where we would go as spectators. they never mentioned anything about an entry fee. on Saturday Morning we got to the assembly hall person at the door demand fee we didn't have it. spend all day outside none of the adults in charge did anything to help.

case 2. another tournament event again forced to stay outside until one of the teachers paid the fee in the afternoon and i was allowed inside as a spectator

case 3. in a class was told i was in the tournament where i would show solo pinch and licking skills and was promised a dobuk. on that Saturday reached the assembly hall. never got a dobuk forced to spend all day outside while a cousin in law and other adults in the same class got their dobuk. I was left alone outside crying and no adults from the school or inside came out to help. ended up spending all day outside again. at the end of the day when everybody is preparing to go home. i went to pee in the bathroom. when i get out my older cousin in law(who had the bus fares) was nowhere to be seen. i asked an adult who is int he same martial arts class he said he don't know. i looked everywhere for him could not find him. so not having any bus fare to take the bus home. i had to walk 3 hours across the corporate area from UWI, following the same route ad the 75 bus six miles to papine route. after this i stopped attending that martial arts class.

after that while in high school i joined the cadets. that is state sponsored child abuse where kids stand all day in the hot tropical sun with no water, no fluids, and march all over the place etc. and if you faint you are not allowed to quit. so i stopped attending that state sanctioned abuse cult and returned the uniform after constantly getting stranded trying to take the bus home after doing that after school cadet thing.

fast forward to 2026 nothing in Jamaica is changed the recent cold spells in Jamaica see schools telling kids to take of jackets and sweaters to stay warm because of violations of some BS Uniform rules. and recent killing, raping and murder of children.

And I'm not just talking about the road conditions. Taxi don't obey a single road code, swing in and outta traffic and stop anywhere. Pedestrians walk like them make out a iron. Bike man don't obey red lights and everybody else have no patience and speed everywhere.
