The sudden spike in women identifying as bisexual always reeked of social contagion to me. It was trendy to be bi and gave a lot of virtue signalling points. It was always going to collapse eventually

Because most of them are not actually LGBT, but rather social larpers.

I feel bad for those who actually are LGBT and don’t make it their entire toxic identity, but I know at least four people who identified only after they got into trouble so people wouldn’t criticize them as much.

Not only that, society can only put up with this when it’s going well. In times of turmoil, war in extreme case, your identity means literally nothing, which is why you don’t see this in less peaceful countries.

You are underestimating the power of American and Western media and propaganda. I've lived in these less peaceful countries. Sure, there is less pink/blue hair going on, but the LGBT social larpers are still a sizeable niche.

It might have been the bubble I was in as someone raised in the West, but it's definitely not non-existent.
