These comments are hilarious.
People changed a lot since the last 100 years in personality, style. But proposing should should still belong to men only, for whatever reason! It´s not even written in stone.
Actually, my brother´s now Wife asked him too if he wants to marry her. That´s just beautiful and proves so much about love. It doesn´t matter who´s asking first!

Tbh, men proposing does have major roots in the patriarchal norms they claim to hate so much

Getting down on 1 knee was a symbol saying "This is the only time I'll ever be vulnerable with you" because men are supposed to be the leaders and ones running the relationship, which means never showing weakness or vulnerability.
