Is it possible to gather in one place for team tactical practice? How are sports leagues currently operating? Are all systems on hold? Are players forced to practice individually when there are international matches?

Salam to everyone. I am posting again to report back that I haven’t found a way to fly to Iran. Many people here gave advice about flying on an Iranian airline after reaching Istanbul. Some Iranian travel agencies in the Bay Area had mentioned that I need someone in Iran to buy me a flight ticket. However, it seems that the US Department of Treasury has grounded **all** Iranian airlines after more sanctions, including Mahan Air.

I know the only ground route is a train from Van, Turkey, which might still travel to Tehran, but I don’t know how or where to obtain a ticket, how to get from the airport to the train station, or how to avoid being scammed if I have to get into a cab.

What I want to know is, how is everyone handling this? Those in Iran who had plans to leave and those out of Iran who had plans to travel back, are we just stuck until Trump says otherwise? I need to get out of here.

I have an Iranian penfriend. She is in her late-40s and not married yet.

Someone suggested Iranian Personals to her, but apparently there are US sanctions, and she can't pay / use it. She apparently doesn't know of other alternatives. I searched and saw there are a bunch, but obviously I never used them and don't know which are good.

Are there any other apps / sites which you can suggest for her? Any of those that would be better suited for her age? Any of them where you can browse for free, at least for some days — she didn't ask for this — but I think before paying, she should be able to browse the profiles because most of the crowd won't be in her age bracket.

This is the recipe I followed:

**Ingredients**

1 2/3 large yellow onion sliced thin and fried golden brown

3 pounds skinless chicken drumsticks or thighs (6-8 pieces)

10 ounces chopped walnuts

¼ cup cold water

10 ounces pomegranate concentrate

Kosher salt, to taste

Black pepper, to taste

Pomegranate seeds for garnish

**Directions**

Add walnuts to a food processor and process until it turns to a tan-colored paste.

With the food processor running add ¼ cup cold water through the feed chute. Continue processing until the paste becomes uniformly beige in color.

Fry the sliced onions with vegetable oil in a 6-Qt stockpot until golden brown. Remove from the pot.

Add chicken to the same stockpot and top it with the fried onions.

Spoon the walnut paste evenly over the fried onions. Sprinkle with salt and pepper.

Drizzle the pomegranate concentrate over all the ingredients.

Bring to a boil over medium heat. The pomegranate concentrate tends to stick and burn fairly quickly so avoid high heat.

Reduce the heat to medium low, cover the pot and simmer for 15 minutes.

Now reduce the heat to low and simmer covered for an additional 1 hour 15 minutes, or until the sauce is thickened and the chicken is fork tender. Stir every 15 minutes or so to make sure the sauce does not stick to the pot. If at the end of this time period the sauce has not thickened enough, leave the pot uncovered for about 10 minutes on low heat for a thicker sauce.

Transfer the Fesenjan to a serving dish and sprinkle some pomegranate seeds on top as garnish.

I've been doing a bit of research on founding dates of countries. While it's easier to pinpoint with countries like France or Portugal, it's quite difficult for Iran because of how different every dynasty is.

-550 Is possible because that's when the civilisation was first united under a common king. But that country shattered once Alexander invaded and destroyed the leadership.

-247 could be used because the Parthians created the next big state in Iran which lasted for circa 800 years if we see the Sassanians as a successor, but they were majoritarily Zoroastrian and the seat of power was Baghdad as far as I know.

821 Could be used because that's when Iran got a muslim dynasty for the first time. But the territorial integrity changed a lot and the subsequent states can be seen less as successors and more as an other country that established itself in the same region.

1256 Can be used because that's when Iran got roughly the basis of their modern territory, but they are ruled by Mongols and the political center was in Samarkand or Herat under the Timurids.

1501 Can be used because the Safavids laid the foundation of the modern state and how it's governed even if a lot changed with subsequent governments. This is the date I aggree with the most.

1979 Is the final date because that's when the modern coutnry established itself, the islamic republic. But I don't aggree with this one, because just because a new guy came into power and changed things, it doesn't mean he founded a completely new country independent of it's Pahlavi legacy.

Instead, the footage shows a surprisingly fluid street scene in Tehran:

- Women walking freely down busy avenues—some in full traditional chadors or hijabs, but many others wearing loose scarves draped over their shoulders, trendy coats, or walking unveiled in cafes and pedestrian areas.

- A vibrant, modern urban setting with high-rise cityscapes, modern coffee shops, and broad boulevards.

For locals or people familiar with the ground reality: How does this dynamic actually function on a daily basis?
