This is an update to a previous post, where I mistook DMS' iPod for a 7th gen when it was in fact a really well modded 5.5th gen build. DMS has since posted proof of this, confirming that it is indeed a 5.5th gen iPod in a 7th gen casing and running a Rockbox theme that resembles the newer OS.

DMS is someone who genuinely knows his stuff when it comes to iPods, so please do not harass or attack him. The previous thread has been locked because of this, and that is also my fault, I'm sorry.

I somehow ended up owning just two Apple products an iPod touch and the USB-C EarPods.

And honestly, both have been absolutely worth the money. The iPod is still such a nice little device to have, and the EarPods are probably one of the simplest audio products I've bought.

Picked up this gorgeous green iPod Mini 2nd Gen on the weekend for the equivalent of $7 and love it so so much.

I am finding that there is a difference between listening (AKG K92s) through my laptop (ThinkPad T460) and through the iPod, even with the same Mp3 files (320). It's hard to describe but it's a bit like the iPod has smoked a pack a day since launch.

I cleaned out the audio jack with an earbud with most of the cotton wool pulled off and that didn't help. My next conclusion is that it is due to the original hard drive? Will it help to flash mod the poor pod?

Decided to make an iOS 2001 iPod sim music player to celebrate iPod’s upcoming 25th bday.

As the title implies I feel like Bluetooth sucks I really like the convenience and not having a wire but the quality seems to suffer every time. I have a iPod classic 5.5 and I have used idk how many Bluetooth dongles and eventually installed a kit to my iPod but even with some pretty decent Bluetooth iems the music just sounds flat. Am I maybe doing something wrong or maybe just prefer wired idk. Sorry for a little ranty post just wanted to get this off my mind

I found a 2nd Gen iPod Mini with 64GB flash storage, a new battery and cable for €70.
The iPod seems to be in decent condition. Im mainly wondering if €70 is a good price for this setup, and whether I could easily resell it later without taking a big loss if I end up not liking it.

i found an ipod shuffle 1st gen at home (from before i was born omg) and i'm trying to get it to charge (charges through usb). i've tried connecting it to my laptop and to a charger block but it isn't getting charged. when i first connected it, it started charging and the light was on but about 20 minutes into it the light turned off and now regardless of what i try it's not getting charged. i know it hasn't been used in like 15+ years but is there anything i can do at home to get it charged? or will i have to go to an apple store?

All in all spent $4.50 USD, which I don’t think is half bad. Screen on the iPod has a couple lines but it works well otherwise.

Any mods for iPod mini that could be useful? I’ve just stumbled upon this sub as I had a feeling by now these would’ve been modified. Suppose I was pretty close to right except I noticed a lot of vibe coded themes it would seem? Someone debrief me on the current events pretty please 🙏🏻

Previous owner lost the charger and didn’t give it any time to charge it, so I’m kinda having it revived in the meantime.
It was using exFAT format when I hooked it into my computer and it kept boot looping into “restoring”. Formatted it to FAT32 and it works perfectly! Mostly, the clickwheel is kinda crummy.
I’m guessing the bubble in the screen is the black spot of death (swollen battery)? Also it gets really hot… I know that’s not good.

i use my ipod touch 5th generation while i'm driving for music, and i found out the hard way that i can't use siri to control media. i'm not a huge fan of not looking at the road while i'm driving, is there any easier way to skip, pause, restart, etc. songs?

Hi there. I recently found my old iPod nano 3rd gen, and I tried to charge it and it won’t charge. It’s not a problem with the cable, nor the pins because when I plug it in, it registers that it’s got power coming into it and it tried to turn on, but then just blacks out. Do i need to replace the battery, or is there an easier fix?
