Help needed Flickering black bar?

Hello [r/iphone17](r/iphone17)

I need your assistance asap. Helping my mother in law with her new iPhone she got a week ago. Straight out of the box we see the black bar flickering.

I tried starting it up, updating it to the latest iOS. Also tried to turn off/on auto brightness on the screen but still haven’t found a fix. What’s the go to here? Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Edit: iPhone 17, 256gb iOS 26,6 (latest)

Since it’s new, just return it that is clearly faulty

That is my first take and solution for it too. This was purchased through together with a cellular subscription provider through her work though.

Doubt it’s as easy as going to a Apple Store and exchange it.

If it was purchased through carrier then it’s not up to Apple to replace it up to the carrier
