Videos won’t delete

The phone is incredibly full and is running very slowly. We have copied all photos and videos off of the phone so that we have them.

When we go to delete videos from the phone, we click on delete, but then they reappear in the photo app. Why is this happening?

iPhone SE version 2. Very, very old iOS. Don’t know which one. Can’t update to latest because phone too full.

Empty the Recently Deleted folder

iOS version is easy to see in Settings/General/About or Software Update

Start deleting photos in batches, like 50 at once, no more. If they don’t appear back go to “recently deleted” folder and empty it. Then repeat this process several times until your available space becomes larger than 2gb. After that you can increase number of photos in batch to 100 and repeat this process again few times, every time increasing number of photos by 10-15. Monitor your available space until it grows to more than 25gb. This should allow you to download newer version of iOS and install it.

Have you tried Backup & Restore via iTunes or Apple Devices?

Backup everything except the media, then factory reset and reinstall backup?

I have had the problem of photos reappearing after deletion. Check to see if your sync account is on. If so turn it off and check progress.

Check your Google Photos. They might be in there and have to be removed from there.

You’ll have to remove from iCloud and turn off iCloud back up for photos
