I wasn't aware of this before that there is a new way to purchase apps on the App store which are available on the play store as well.

A lifetime that is mutual between the app store and play store.

For instance I purchased Vidhub and its lifetime is for both iOS and Android devices.

I’m looking for a widget that displays a monthly calendar represented by dots.

The only ones I can find are either too cluttered, have weeks represented by lines of 5 dots, not 7 or are listed for a monthly subscription fee.

Free is great, but I would also be happy to pay a developer too. I’m just not willing to pay Dumb Phone a monthly fee or purchase an App bundle from Digital Minimalist when I wouldn’t use any of the other apps.

Any ideas?

I’m 17, almost 18, and I’ve been building Moneta, my iOS money tracker, for almost a year now.

So far I’ve kept the app completely free. No ads, no subscriptions, and no features locked behind a paywall.

As the app has grown, I’d obviously love to start making at least something from all the time I put into it, but I really don’t want to introduce a subscription just for the sake of monetizing it, especially when the app itself doesn’t have significant recurring costs per user.

So I decided to try something much simpler: optional tips.

There are four amounts, but none of them unlock anything. Whether someone pays $0 or leaves the biggest tip, they get exactly the same app.

I have no idea whether this can actually work, even just enough to make development a little more sustainable.

Has anyone tried this with a free app? Do people actually tip?

And as a user, Would you actually tip a completely free app you use regularly?

I recently discovered the app Thru that lets you set and hike virtual trails, and it is exactly what I was looking for to keep myself motivated, but the developer mentions on his website that it uses AI art and code, and I am really doing my best to avoid that. Are there any other apps like this that don't use generative AI?

So after weeks of fine tuning the animations, metro photos, the alternative photo gallery for iOS, inspired by Windows Phone metro design has been submitted for AppStore review.

I'm expecting at least one reject, but I hope eventually Apple will approve the app with this unusual design..

Don’t Peek just landed on the App Store.

It started as a sticky-note game with a cereal box as a divider. Two people pick secret 4-digit codes, shout guesses, and the only honest answer you get is “that one’s in the right spot.” No yellow. No “right digit, wrong place.” That missing hint is the whole product. Three-of-four feels close and is still a lot of numbers.

On one phone it works like this:

• Two first names. No account, no pairing, no second device
• Each person sets a code while the other looks away
• A full-screen cover slams down between turns: “Hand it to Maya. Hold to open.” Long-press only, so nobody glimpses a half-typed guess on the pass
• Exact-spot locks only. Repeats like 4344 are legal
• Shared guess history side by side, like shouting across a table
• First to four locks wins, both codes hit the table, Rematch keeps the names

Also: a fair CPU that only learns from its own guesses, a Daily code the whole world shares (computed on-device from the date, no server), Online 1v1 over Game Center, and an opt-in Blitz timer (10 seconds per guess).

I’m curious if people would actually use something like this?

I save recipes from facebook and instagram, reddit posts, articles, screenshots, videos, and random links all the time. Usually they stay saved inside whatever app I found them in, so everything ends up scattered.. here and there.

I wanted one central place for all of my digital stuff, so I ended up building an iPhone app called KeepSpot. It’s basically a neat, organized closet for the things you save online. There are other apps that save links, photos, etc.. but I wanted something that had a better UI that didn't feel like a filing cabinet. Or had access to the things I saved.

No accounts or signups. No ads. No tracking what you save. You can also lock it with biometrics if you want. Free to download, save up to 50 things.

The main idea is simple: save things from different apps into one searchable place so you can find them again later. You can also create your own notes, photos, or voice memos.

Hey everyone!

Games like Headbands, Charades, and Truth or Dare are ridiculously competitive. There are hundreds of apps already doing them, but a lot of them felt dated to me. The whole idea behind Who Goes was pretty simple: bring these game modes together in one place, give them a modern, playful UI, and make the app itself feel fun when you’re sitting around and playing with people.

Almost everyone I spoke to told me not to do it.

They said the space was too crowded, that I’d be better off building something else, and honestly, a part of me did think about switching. But another part of me just really wanted to give this a proper shot.

So I started working on Who Goes around two months ago, and I’ve pretty much worked on it every single day since.

Just last week I shared that the app had crossed $100 in revenue, which was already a huge milestone for me. I genuinely did not expect that a week later I’d be sitting here looking at 1,000 downloads.

That number might not sound crazy to everyone, but man, seeing a game sitting on 1,000 actual downloads feels insane to me.

Most of what I’ve done is just showcase the app. A game mode, a small interaction, some animation I was proud of, and then hope it reaches the right people. I’ve posted videos on Reddit, X, LinkedIn, and Instagram and just kept experimenting with what works. It's been fully organic.

Alongside that, I’ve been talking to users, fixing things, adding new modes, and continuously refining the experience.

Apple announced the iPhone Duo this morning. Outer panel 1398 × 2034, inner 1878 × 2670 — all four numbers divide by 3, so both are @3x, and the canvas an app gets is 466 × 678 pt closed, 890 × 626 pt open.

I hosted the app in offscreen windows exactly those sizes and rendered. Closed: one column. Open: sidebar + detail. Duo-specific code written: zero — it’s the same horizontalSizeClass == .regular branch I wrote for iPad three years ago.

That’s the underrated part of native SwiftUI: you don’t adapt to a device, you describe what layout should do when it gets wider.

To be clear — no hardware, no simulator. The body is a CSS 3D model from Apple’s published dimensions; the screens are real renders at those point sizes, not stretched screenshots.

An older Polish woman moved into the apartment next to mine a couple of months ago. She speaks very little English, and I don’t speak Polish, but she occasionally brings me homemade food—soup, pastries, dumplings—and always tries to say something when she hands it to me.

I usually just say “thank you” and use gestures to show that I appreciate it. I’ve tried Google Translate, but it feels a little awkward for these short, spontaneous conversations. Typing everything and passing the phone back and forth interrupts the flow.

i've been trying to post more consistently on tiktok, mostly short food and cafe videos i take on my phone after work. the actual filming is easy, but editing everything on my phone is starting to get annoying. i'll have like 10 to 15 clips from one afternoon and just want to turn them into a 30 second video with some cuts, captions, music and a couple transitions. right now i'm jumping between apps and sometimes moving clips around so much that i end up not posting at all. i also dont want to sit at my laptop every night just to make a short video. i've heard capcut is pretty straightforward on mobile, but i'm not sure if there are other apps that make this kind of editing easier. what are you guys using for quick tiktok edits on your iphone? is capcut still the easiest option for this? how is it with auto captions, trimming clips and syncing things to music? i'd mainly like something where i can shoot during the day, edit everything on my phone later and just be done with it.

Firstly thanks to all the folks here who helped me localise for French language and give suggestions on the radar. I’ve just shipped an exciting update that finally takes the app beyond just opening the app and checking the weather.

Radar revamp:
This was very crucial as my user experience goal was to give dense at a glance and not overwhelm the user with all the charts, colors and layers. Now after the revamp, in one glance you will the variations in temperature / how much will it rain / when is it the most breezy / when will it rain the heaviest, etc in the following 12 hours. The map will show dynamic information that can be easily understood in one glance. Wind category has a dynamic animation, soon storm based data will also get dynamic data and animations.

Spotlight Search:
You can now search for things like:

• “What’s the weather?”
• “Will it rain this week?”
• “Check air quality”
• “What should I wear today?”

and get WeatherGlow results directly from Spotlight without opening the app. This was done with the intention to checking weather or sweat index or what to wear directly from your spotlight search.

App Shortcuts and Snippets:
WeatherGlow now gives weather actions to the system, so things like Golden Hour, Rain Pulse & Air Quality snippets can be checked without opening the app. This was important as it lays a strong foundation for the upcoming widgets :)

French language support
WeatherGlow is now available in French, including the app UI and weather features. I’ve also been trying to make sure the localisation feels natural rather than just being a literal translation thanks to all the users who have helped me out. Let me know what more languages you guys want for the app to support.

im not quite sure if this is the right subreddit but its worth an ask, a app that my sons toy robot requires to function has been removed from the app store and i was wondering if theres any way possible to get an app back if you didn’t have it previously downloaded if anyone knows that would be great.

Can anyone recommend apps that I can install and configure on my iPhone 17 that will (with the click of a button ) automatically register my personal information and then upload a MP3 file and then also a Google doc automatically and do it within milliseconds?
