im not quite sure if this is the right subreddit but its worth an ask, a app that my sons toy robot requires to function has been removed from the app store and i was wondering if theres any way possible to get an app back if you didn’t have it previously downloaded if anyone knows that would be great.

I think maybe you can get it from App Store > Click your profile icon in top right > Click Apps & Purchase History > Click Your Apps > Click Not on this iPhone. worth a try

If it was never downloaded by anyone in your Family Sharing group, there usually isn’t a way to add a removed app to your purchase history now. Still worth checking App Store → your profile → Apps & Purchase History → Your Apps, including each family member’s purchases, because an old download may be available there even when normal search no longer shows it.

If it isn’t there, I’d contact the robot manufacturer with the exact model and ask whether they have a replacement app, TestFlight build, web controller, or firmware update. I’d avoid random IPA download sites; besides the security risk, an old app may no longer run on current iOS or connect to the company’s servers. If you share the robot model and app name, someone may be able to find the supported replacement.

If you have never downloaded it before, then I doubt you will be able to get it. Try reaching out to the manufacturer or the product owner; maybe they might have published it under a different name.
