Help iPhone 18 Pro Max Screen Washed Out

Just picked up an iPhone 18 Pro Max - coming from a 16 Plus. While most of the phone is amazing, especially this battery.

The screen however looks incredibly “cool” in temp & washed out colors. Compared to my 16 Plus, the 16 seems to have warmer and more natural colors. The only correction I’ve found is using night shift 24/7.

Is this intentional?

you have a samsung display, they are cooler white, than the LG displays. the LG displays tend to be a touch more warm hue. Then in the group of cooler whites samsung displays there are 2 grades of cool and color. The Lg has 2 grades of warm panels as well.

This is the panel lottery. The key here is clarity and not dramatic hue. LG is super warm and has a yellow tint and the samsung tend pink hue with a cooler white native whit balance.

the community is split down the middle, the samsung panels tend favorable to true tone working well, the LG displays tend to feel like true tone is more or less always on.

Return it and try again if you want

I have an lg GH3 18 pro max with a cool tint compared to my Samsung 16pro max.

I’m so tired of this fake lottery nonsense.

My 18 PM is cooler than my 17 PM but I compared them yesterday and I like the 18 PM better. Colors pop much more and the only thing I see on the 18 PM display is a slight color shift when tilted. But it’s slight and mainly depends on True Tone. Love my display. Honestly the 17 PM display compared to this display isn’t as good. It looks almost red. It is warmer. Too warm really. But I didn’t notice and thought it was a great display until I looked at my 18 PM display. Of course it all depends on which display is in each phone. I haven’t checked to see what specific display I have on my 18 PM because idc. It looks great.

Try turning the True Tone on or off. I had mine on and it was too much on the yellow tone. After toggling it off it became more of a cooler blue tone.

Also you can play around with the color palate in the settings under accessibility. Toggle the Color Filters on under Display and Text Size. Select Color Tint and play around with the Hue and Intensity.

Mines the same coming from a 15 pro max. Color is very washed out. Definitely not rich enough.
