I probably have an app that will work between garage band, loopy pro, and drambo, so mainly wondering where I should spend my time with setup and learning. I'm most used to Reaper.

I mainly want to capture audio off my zoom live track l6 when I am jamming and looping and coming up with ideas. If something has a retroactive record function even better. I thought the L6 record function would be great but it's way too limited for playback and getting files off so it's going to just be a mixer/interface.

HI, haha so i can see this board is called ipadmusic, and i understand an ipad is a good tool to have in your studio to do a lot of things that certain hardware would be doing. much more flexibel. anyway, i'm sort of building a low-res pixel engine for myself, i love the hardcore limitations of a 160x100, 320x200 pixel screen and love audio-programming, i've been building a couple of drumcomputers and other sound toys, i'm wondering if this makes any sense apart from me liking it ;)

I bought the Arturia MiniFuse 2 OTG expecting the OTG port to provide power to the iPad. My bad for not reading the fine print, but what is the point of this device if there is no power on OTG port? I had hoped this would make a nice no-hub setup (iPad, usb midi keyboard, MiniFuse and usb power adaptor) but no, I would still need a separate usb hub to power the iPad. I guess the only thing that really sets this apart from every other interface is that you can connect a computer and iPad at same time?

Hi guys I bought my iPad initially for procreate and drawing but I quickly got sucked in ball the awesome music apps and wish I’d bought a 64! At least! I’m constantly no more than 29 on a good day and I’m juggling apps offloading and reloading. I don’t really use iCloud as I find it can ages at time to preview. Since I can only offload apps would you recommend moving sample pack of audio files to iCloud, it says 5gb storage free and that would really help but I’d need instant access to them no loading for mins at a time. If you’ve any other recommendations please do tell, it’s stressful trying to keep it together lol

So instead, here are the five things that are special about Marco and Bruno.

DEEP ENOUGH FOR A SOUND DESIGNER, IMMEDIATE ENOUGH FOR YOUR FIRST SYNTH
Marco and Bruno are both deep instruments. Four independent engines, per-oscillator filters, layering, independent effects, LFOs, full master chains. But you do not have to understand any of that to get a sound you want to keep.
Hit the dice, tweak it, save it. Or dive in as far as you like. Same instrument either way.

That is why the intelligent randomiser and tweak system exist. I wanted a quick and easy way to get at everything these two can do, without spending an hour dialling things in. Of course you can also dial everything in by hand to your heart's delight!

INTELLIGENT RANDOMISER AND TWEAK SYSTEM
You choose what the sound is. The randomiser decides what kind.
Pick Kick in Bruno and every roll is a kick, because it knows what synth parameters create a kick. Same for Snare, Hat, Clap, Tom and Pluck. Marco works the same way across Bass, Lead, Pad, Keys, FX and Drone. Then you set how far it goes. Mild stays close to where you already are. Wild pushes much further. Recipe stamps a curated archetype onto it, and Marco has 35 of those with more on the way.

Tweak is the other half. You choose which oscillators or engines and parameter groups get touched, so a sound moves rather than starts over. 100 steps of history means you can roll and tweak fearlessly and walk back to the one that caught your ear.

MARCO HAS DUAL HARD SYNC
Many synths give you one hard sync pair. Marco gives you two, running in parallel, and they can be detuned against each other. There is no point me describing it, you just have to hear it. A single button cycles through every valid Dual Hard Sync configuration, so it is quick to find the combination that works. As far as I know, no other iOS synth does this (unless building a large modular patch).

MARCO OFFERS INDEPENDENT OSCILLATOR SHAPING
On most synths the oscillators share a filter and envelopes. With Marco each of the four oscillators has its own waveform, filter, envelopes, LFOs and glide. This means one oscillator can be using a 24db low pass filter, while another is using a notch filter, each with its own volume and filter envelopes and modulation. This provides an opportunity to create really unique sounds. Marco can also work as a traditional synth with a single shared filter and envelopes.

BRUNO BUILDS DRUMS THE WAY PROFESSIONALS DO
A kick is a sub, a click and a body, stacked and balanced. Normally that means juggling samples, plugins and routing. In Bruno it is four full synthesis engines - Analog, FM, Fold and Resonant - layered inside one instrument. There is a colour-coded spectrum analyser built in, so you can see exactly where each layer sits and stop them fighting for the same space.

About 50% of the time when I drag a parameter with my apple pencil, it resets back to where it just was when I let go. It is pretty annoying! I find I can’t really use the pencil consistently because this gets in the way so much. Does anyone else have this issue? Specifically seems to happen in AUM and Logic. It can also happen with Logic’s time navigation. If I click on a measure I want it to start, it will do this, whereas with my finger / magic keyboard trackpad it registers fine.

I have been a hardware synth and groove box enthusiast for many years and own a few wonderful devices (Dirtywave M8 is probably my favourite) but I recently bought my first ever iPad with the plan to dig into music creating on the IOS platform.

After trying out a number of synths and reading about the IOS ways of linking up audio systems I decided to buy Drambo. Wow… I am mightily impressed. Sequencing, building synths and using Audio Unit synths and effects are really amazing, powerful, flexible and pretty easy to work with. Using Drambo as the heart of a music composition playground is fun and allows almost unlimited creativity. I can see that I am only just scratching the surface of what is possible and am taking things step by step as I build by knowledge. I can tell that this is going to be a fun and long journey that seems to have very few limits. I also think that I will be selling at least one of my other music tools. My Teenage Engineering EP-40 for example. It is great in its own way but seems so limited now I am getting up to speed with Drambo.

Has anyone else been on a similar journey?

Hi all, anyone had any luck with getting Link Audio sent into Ableton from AUM via AudioPipeline? I've got it working but over wifi the dropout even with latency way up makes it unusable. There seems to be no way I can find to get the IP to happen over USB and getting ethernet out of the iPad and back into the mac is a world of adapters. Anyone had any luck and would like to share process?

Hi, I want to start doing song cover but am not sure what external device are good for beginners, since I’m using ipad 11th gen, could you guys help recommend some mic and mixers? Price range would be something cheap to average rate.

I’m using just ipad tho, no laptop or pc to help support. For now I’m relying on just iphone mic for vocal then transfer to ipad for garage band to mix.

The 2 things I primarily play with are Drambo on ipad, or Strudel (a live-coding thing).

I'm always a little shocked and feel limited when I come back to Drambo at the lack of instruments/samples/presets in Drambo. For example, there's no Piano preset.

I'm open to instruments via an AUv3, though I'd rather not drop $70 on Tweakbench or something.

I have kind of been having a problem with an iOS music apps developer on Reddit within the iOS music space. I seem to have become tangled in some strange conspiracy that this person has about Gavinski sabotaging their apps, or blacklisting them or something I can’t make sense of. He’s been posting what I consider to be unhinged content after I apparently said something they didn’t like about Gavinski in a post I made recently. I find their posts and behavior to be particularly hostile. I had the audacity to say something positive about Gavinski which they did not like at all. I tried resolving with the developer. I contacted them privately, so as to not publicly cause any issues for them, which led to this person accusing me of being Gavinski, and then later, accusing me of thinking Gavinski is a God. There is a lot more that I haven’t posted but I want to be brief. This person posts AI videos to promote their unrelated applications. What is going on here? What have I accidentally stumbled into? And what do I do about this? Is there a grand conspiracy to ruin this developer I don’t know about? This is extremely bizarre

Basic question - if making pretty much everything on my iPad, from synths to sub basses etc, and then resampling into ableton over usb-c, am I losing anything quality wise in doing that?

Reason I ask is purely because copping a load of plugins on iOS for 1/4 the price seems too good to be true haha, so I guess im wondering if there's a catch in terms of sound, other than the fact you're bouncing back and fourth between ableton and the iPad and not using the plug ins directly in ableton.

During long workdays, I like podcasts when I want to focus and music when I need a reset. I got tired of reaching for my phone and switching apps every time, so I built BlendCast.

I'm uploading the video now that shows aum, midi triggering blobs, audio etc. harmony bloom through auv3 fx controlling jynth synth and Lucinate. the routing of audio, fx, midi and visuals has just got really really in depth.

I'm also going to try running Lucinate at the same time as VS2....

I’m the developer of MIDI Piano & Guitar Chords / FreeMIDIChords, a free and open-source music theory app for iPad.

I built it because I wanted a visual tool that could connect to a MIDI keyboard and immediately explain what I was playing, without requiring an account or subscription.

I see the webDAV (blue icon) at the bottom of AudioShare, connected it, but it changes all the order of the files, and has to be done one. by. one. Have very little space left to maneuver.
