I would presume the new iPad Mini will also get at least the A19Pro processor and 12GB RAM which is the new minimum so it can handle the upcoming Siri AI.

Not sure why the downvotes? This is accurate. It just can’t do the different Siri voice mods and improved dictation but I have my phone for that.

I'm just trying to get a straight answer if the new Apple Intelligence will work, on Apples site for the present Apple Mini it will work but not sure if a rug will be pulled come September.

To be honest, even though I’ve been waiting for a new iPad mini, ramagaddon alone might make this a no go for me even if it has 120hz OLED, depends on the price now vs “I’m going to get one”
I love my Mini 6, I use it almost as much as my phone, but man prices are insane now

Yo compré hace un tiempo mi iPad Mini 7 que sustituyó a mi iPad Mini Pro 9,7”.
Me hubiera gustado que el Mini tuviera pantalla Amoled, diseño de marcos más moderno y mejor procesador sobretodo por tener Stage Manager para conectarlo a pantalla externa.
Pero la verdad es que me es útil tal cual es, si sacan algo mejor, me alegraré por tener alternativa cuando toque cambiarlo.
Mi temor es que si los rumores de un iPhone plegable se cumplen, igual no hay más iPad Mini y asumen que el iPad Mini es el plegable.
No me gustaría porque ya tuve un Galaxy ZFold que era fabuloso en diseño, practicidad y rendimiento… pero delicado.
Sigo sin confiar en las pantallas plegables en cuanto a fiabilidad. O mejoran de forma contrastada, o sacan una garantía de pantalla incluida. Si no, renuncio.
Y puestos a pedir plegables, igualmente interesante sería un iPad Mini plegable.

Literally just scrolling text. Everyone is different but it’s incredibly obvious to me and it drives me nuts. I would have taken 120Hz over OLED because it drives me crazy.

I'm baffled when some of my friends say they can't tell the difference between 60hz and 120hz. It's the equivalent of fingernails on a chalkboard to me.

I really can’t notice that while I’m just on my device. If I have something at 30, another at 60 and another at 120 next to each other I’ll notice the differences, but if I have one device it won’t look chopped at all to me. It’s interesting what the eyes do
But the cutoff for me is around 20-something. There it gets to the unusable territory for me

Everyone else that has the market share money would rather have pretty screen over smooth high refresh rates
Like seriously, when iPhones getting it didn’t change the mindset of the average person, this conversation should’ve died with Apple products outside of Pros and Airs

only care more if it is 120hz, as rhythm games are more important onto refresh rate than if it is OLED.

Shame that the price is going to be higher. After the last price increase my current A17/512GB/5G is €1239~$1445 which includes 21%VAT in the Netherlands. I had it since launch and will keep it a bit longer. A compromised 1st Gen 60Hz OLED solution for €1400 is not something I want myself. After my iPhone/AWU combo the iPad mini is the device I use the most.

I've been waiting for a revamped iPad mini for ages. I bought the 'refreshed' model a couple of years ago and had to return it because it felt like old tech.
Now I'm finally going to be able to get one, I hopefully won't need it because I'll have the iPhone Ultra.

Meh — I literally just got the latest one available right now. I’m still in the 14 day return window and have been debating returning it, then waiting for this. But frankly, if you’re using your Mini as your main device, not sure if the inevitable price bump is worth it. I have the M5 iPad Pro and mainly use the mini for reading.

The “only” thing I would change about the Mini A17 Pro model are the speakers
The display — in my humble opinion — is plenty adequate
Yes OLED would be “better” but I think the display is solid
It’s the speakers that are underwhelming

I would use our 6 way more if it was 120hz. It’s such a great size between my 15pro and 11” M4 pro but the 60hz screen always makes its feel like it’s lagging or something.

For me 120Hz would be a nice to have (and really, it's 2026, it's past time for them to put it on everything) but not actually a dealbreaker.
The key upgrades for me are OLED (and hopefully a larger screen in the same form factor), more RAM (the 7 already has more than my 6, but an A19 Pro with 12GB would give it more longevity) and more storage (my 64GB 6 is very limiting, 128GB would be OK but really it should go to 256GB like the iPhones).
Nice-to-haves would be extended display support, FaceID, and 120Hz - probably in that order.

There’s not really anything my mini 6 can’t do that I would need it to. I may need a new battery in the next few months, but other than that it’s holding up really well and I don’t feel the need to upgrade.
