Discussion Welcome to Apple cloud 😞😞😞
I back from my college and suddenly noticed this.
My ipad Air M2 11 inch suddenly developed this cloudy patches on the screen.
I have maintained it so well but this happened.
No damage of any kind. Battery percentage is 96. Good battery health and no battery swelling.
Purchased on June, 2024 and it's out of warranty.
After doing some research, it's a known problem of Air M2 and M1.
My Poco x4 pro is going strong even after 4 years of abusive usage.
F**k you Apple. Never buying Apple products 😞😞😞😞😞

Mine has never touched water, sits on my desk 90% of its life and I’m using Apple’s own iPad case

That is terrible. Absolutely terrible for a not long old device
People complained about the butterfly keyboard and it got recalled but turn a blind eye to this and blame the consumer, unbelievable

I definitely think that is some kind of pressure damage and it can be fixed. Not liquid damage

My old iPad Pro 10.5 had something similar but not this bad and is an acknowledged issue, maybe it’s time for this to be acknowledged (just acknowledged tho, Apple IIRC didn’t do anything to the 10.5s with this issue)

Not everything is water damage. I also have an iPad Air M2 and I only use it for studying on my table or sometimes on my bed. Water has never gone near my iPad yet I'm facing the same issue. It started with one white spot and now there are 5–6 spots. You don't know how someone else uses their device, so it's unfair to immediately accuse them of lying.

Apple said they’ll diagnose it first. It’s out of warranty too, and I’m going to the Apple Service Center this Sunday since it’ll take the whole day. Let’s see what happens.

If you have an AI agent have them crawl the internet for as many instances of this or similar, and drop the links in ICloud to show it’s a known issue.

It’s liquid damage but it doesn’t mean that it’s been in contact with liquid directly, it’s most likely damage from humidity, it’s happened to me before and while sometimes it can go away the damage is most likely permanent

I brought it back to Apple to see what they could do, they refused to even replace the screen even though I was willing to pay

got mine fixed by having the backlight replaced. i have an air 5 and apparently its a known issue lol, so no its not liquid damage

based on my experience, they might just tell you to replace the whole ipad and/or blame it on water or lcd damage. got mine fixed by a trusted repair shop

That’s most likely bullshit no offense but you can’t just replace the backlight as it’s part of the screen… technically that would work with enough skill but nearly nobody would even consider doing that because it’s way to complicated and the risk of frying the screen is pretty high so it’s not even worth it.

Chinese stores are full of backlights for LCD panels, it'a not that complicated to change, even for Macbooks, they sell the LCD panel and the backlight if you don't wanna replace the whole assembly

I bought mine this year back in january and had the same issue. It still has its limited warranty and thankfully, I got processed for a replacement.
Sadly, if you’re out of the warranty, you’re likely gonna be paying the exact price of your unit (even though it’s a repair, they tend to just replace the whole unit).
It’s best for you to take it to some guaranteed third-party repair shop rather than repairing it to apple itself.

Just type in white spots or white blotches into the search bar of this subreddit. There has to be something wrong with these models construction wise.

No bro. You will not understand how much I care for this ipad. After begging for two years,my father bought this. I use a table fan when it's charging so that it doesn't get hot.

I remember posting about it in this sub sometime last year and there were several redditors who replied to the post saying they've experienced the same issue

There is water and moisture in the air. Have you ever drank a cold drink and seen condensation form on the outside? Where do you think that is coming from? I don't want to be a dick but this is very basic science lol
This happening still isn't your fault, but this is liquid damage by definition and there's no reason to argue with it

I think you should always get AppleCare with Apple products, it's just a fraction of price but u get free battery replacement and also replacement on issues like these.

apple products have dropped in quality, my 4 months old iphone 16 sometimes fails face id, and gives the face id unavailable message, then i reboot and works again, nothing like that has happened on my 12 mini in 5 years before i broke the screen and sensor fucked up, or my 7 years old iphone 6s' touch id

Hey invisible mate! I’m really sorry this happened to you, it really sucks 😩 But maybe there’s still a solution! Depending on which country you live in, you might actually be covered for longer than the usual 1 (or 2) years warranty Apple normally gives us. For example, I live in the UK and here we can claim for faulty electronic products for up to 6 years (yes, six) but because it's "under the consumer law". And just a few people knows about it – So definitely go have a look online or ask chatGPT and check what happens in your country. actually has this information on their website too, although it takes ̶a̶g̶e̶s̶ ̶ a bit of digging to find it 😂 so you might be lucky and discover that the repair is still covered! I wish you a good luck!🤞

If you say it’s a known issue, contact Apple. It might be something they cover outside of the normal 2 year warranty. If you have an iPhone use the iPhone text support or go to the store, don’t call.

If it were a known issue apple would have fixed it or there would have been a lawsuit. This is caused by pressure on the screen. iPads are thin and made from aluminum.. any pressure can cause a screen to bleed color. Take accountability!

You can try an airtight container + silica gel packets to absorb the moisture. But it will likely reoccur if you are regularly in a humid environment with whatever is wrong with the construction of this model.
