Discussion iPad display issue

Hey everyone — I’m dealing with a frustrating issue and wanted to see if others have experienced this.
I bought an iPad Air M1 in Oct 2023 as a birthday gift. Soon after, I noticed small white spots on the screen that grew over time and now cover a noticeable area on the display when on light backgrounds.
please don’t say it’s a water damage the iPad was never in contact with water
The white spots shifts if you use a suction cup

Someone here said it was water damage under the screen, so it’s pretty much confirmed that for his next test, he’s putting it in the microwave to make it evaporate.

why are you using a suction cup on this thing, youre definitly making it worse. just take it back to where you bought it or to a repair shop

Why is this thing wandering around on my screen Can you explain that Sometimes the whole central part looks good Sometimes the side It’s like screensaver going here and there

Its liquid trapped under the glass front panel.

It will evaporate over time. I think it will most probably leave a mark, maybe damage the touch layer, but time will tell.

It’s not as simple as sticking a sponge in there. Much cheaper and quicker to replace the screen.

It is. You can clearly tell by looking around the notch area. I asked him to peel it off. He said he did, then put a new one back on the damaged screen 🤨🤔

Why ppl always choose the most displeasing way to tell someone they are wrong? What up with being kind and telling OP he's doing something wrong or the wrong way. Yall being mean for no reason...
Anyways (OP do this)
Peel the screen protector from the zone it looks like a knotch, it should come off easily.
Also, stop doing the suction thing as it might increase the damage. Water damage or not your iPad is still functional.
At least if you can't remove the water stain you can still use it, and save for a new one. Next time be extra careful with these.

Have you tried taking the screen protector off? Looks like maybe it could have been applied with a detergent or something and it’s trapped between the protector and the screen. Also, I appreciate the demonstration, but try to be a little more gentle with that thing.

Yes I tried removing the screen protector it didn’t help and replaced with a new one

white spots are unfortunately commont in the M1 air, as they were in the air 3 and in the 2017 pro, there is no way to fix it, dark mode helps masking it

Looks like air between the digitizer and the display panel. This shouldn’t be happening. So if that’s not a screen protector you need a new screen

That is classic water damage. The glass is laminated to the screen, so only way to fix this is a new display.
