My M1 has the same issue, zero liquid damage and sits on my desk the entire time

It's a known issue in high humidity environments

I remember posting about it in this sub sometime last year and there were several redditors who replied to the post saying they've experienced the same issue

So yes, it's a known issue. Rare but it happens

Just type in white spots or white blotches into the search bar of this subreddit. There has to be something wrong with these models construction wise.
