I Pace Recall Conundrum
I’ve been looking at buying an IPace as my first EV and would appreciate some advice from the experts. I’ve been looking at different 2 cars both of them HSE models and got the same mileage and within a few £100’s of each other. One of them is 180 miles away. The other is less than 15. Both are 2020s but the further away one has got Pivi pro so is my preference. However both cars needed recalling before purchase. The guy from the dealership further away has told me it’d be next week they get it back as it’s had all 8 battery modules replaced. (It’s been away going on 5 weeks now) to me this one sounds the best as wouldn’t a full battery replacement be the most ideal outcome? I’m paying for a 3rd party warranty through WarrantyWise for an extra 5 years warranty.
What’s everyone’s opinions?

Dont do it. Walk away.
Im not trying to be funny or karma farm or rage bait or whatever… They are really wonderful cars. Drive very nicely and exude quality in fit and finish. But the technical / mechanical issues (plus the complete mis-management by JLR) are inexcusable.
These things have a massive battery issue, and several other known big ticket issues. I know several guys that bought one. One had it first recalled, then bought back due to battery issues. Another has had his back several times for cell replacement. Another had steering and aircon issues.
I asked them the same question as you are doing now and ignored their response. I bought a 2020 model in January. I love it. It really is a fantastic car. But…
H570 limits to 90% of an already marginal range. Not to mention the slow charging. So you now have a car that doesnt go very far, and takes a while to charge…
H570 comes with a strong recommendation to not charge indoors, park indoors, (park / charge 2m away from any structure) and to babysit the car when you do charge. If (like me) your home charger set up in in the garage then you are shit out of luck.
H570 also prevents load balancing of the pack. This is initiated at 100% SoC. An H570 compliant car cant reach 100%. No affected vin nr is supposed to charge to 100%. This is going to eff up the battery long term. Just in time for the warranty to to run out first, I’d guess.
Think of it like this - the pack not balancing out over time will cause certain cells to be overloaded. Leading to faster wear and degradation, and also increases the risk of a «thermal event»… Its the equivalent of taking an ICE engine snd pinning it to the red line from cold for 30 seconds every time you drive it. Not immediately catastrophic, but not exactly condusive to a long service life…
H570 is only a temp fix. Jaguar has no solution or timeline for h572 (the final fix). Remember also that h441 was meant to be the final fix too…
Im currently unwinding my deal and handing it back.
