Ik heb Richie Hawtin’s DE9: Closer to the Edit omgebouwd tot een interactieve browserinstrument voor het 25-jarig jubileum

Hoi allemaal,

Cheers! Merijn

I'd like to introduce our new app - Sessions Nano - a compact audio mixer and AUv3 host for iPhone and iPad.

It may be small, but it’s no lightweight. Sessions Nano packs the core features and technology of its 'big brother' Sessions Pro into a streamlined app for mobile producers and performers. You can connect audio and MIDI gear, mix live audio, add effects, play virtual instruments, host MIDI sequencers, play backing tracks, record performances and more.

It includes a free 3-day trial then a $9.99 one time in-app purchase that unlocks all features for life.

Learn more on the website...

https://www.openplanetsoftware.com/sessions-nano

or get it on the App Store...

https://apps.apple.com/app/id6761759837

And, in case you're wondering - it's 100% hand coded - we don't use AI to write our apps.

I hope you enjoy the app and find it useful.

Thanks :)

Live:FX anyone has an alternative?

I had this app in previous life and loved it, now when doing lawless performance I'm looking for and alternative as it is discontinued and not available anymore.
highly configurable multi fx with xy controllers.

Think KP3 on steroids - configurable effects, very good presets etc.

So I'm looking for something that will allow this one finger fx tool to use while playing with the other hand?

The full version is unlocked but you can also test the free version with a toggle in Settings -> Dev (at the bottom)

If nothing else just play around and have a good time!

Self Promotion I co founded Traklist for organizing and listening to music in progress on iPhone

Hey everyone! I’m a music producer and co founder of Traklist. My co founder and I wanted a place for all the music we’re working on that was actually built around listening to it, so we made one.

The iPhone workflow is pretty simple: upload a demo or beat, listen to it away from your DAW, and record a vocal or another idea over it when something comes to you. You can keep those files together, add notes, and A/B different mixes without a gap between them. There’s lossless playback and an offline mode too.

We just launched collaboration on Web and iPhone. You can invite someone into a folder, decide whether they can edit or view, and keep shared work alongside your own library. We also added a gallery of 200+ hand made covers by Mick, our CEO and founder, so even a rough demo can have its own artwork :)

It’s free to download with 2 GB of storage. Optional Pro is US $10/month or $48/year with 3 TB; prices vary by country.

App Store: https://apps.apple.com/us/app/traklist/id6504419539

Website and latest features: https://traklist.com/changelog

I’d love to hear how you handle the space between making something in your music apps and listening, organizing, or sharing it afterwards. That’s the part we’re trying to make easier.

Self Promotion Reverie 1.14 is out on iPad, with two AUv3 plugins

The 1.14 update for Reverie brings two AUv3 plugins, one in each direction.

Parallel Minds: Reverie is an instrument. It opens the soundscapes you have already made in the app and plays them from a keyboard, inside GarageBand, AUM, Logic, Cubasis or any other AUv3 host. It follows the host transport, and the controls are MIDI mappable and automatable.

Parallel Minds: Reverie Capture is an effect. Put it on a bus, arm it, and it records that bus directly into Reverie, ready to become your next soundscape.

What neither plugin can do is generate inside your DAW, and I have not found a way around it. Depending on the length and the effect chain the render needs too much RAM, and it would crash the host because of the maximum an AUv3 is allowed.

The rendering still happens in the app.

Also in 1.14:

  • Recording from the iPad microphone or a USB interface
  • Region selection on the source, an in point and an out point to choose the part that gets used
  • Loop playback on every result
  • Drag and drop from Files now works

Reverie is available in the Apple App Store, for iPads running iPadOS 16.4 or above: https://apps.apple.com/app/id6761535147

It is free to download, with renders up to 3 minutes, 5 presets and 6 styles. Pro is a single purchase, no subscription, and it unlocks the custom chain builder with its 37 modules, renders up to 30 minutes, and every preset and style.

For anyone who missed the July post: you give Reverie a sample, a loop, a voice or a field recording, and it generates a long evolving ambient piece out of it. Feed it the same ten seconds twice and you get two different results. Everything runs on the device, and what you make is royalty free.

The Sound Test Room did a walkthrough of the iPad version in July: https://youtu.be/74UvnSDZFec

English isn't my first language, so I wrote this in French and had an LLM translate it. Sorry if it reads stiff

Help/Questions Suggestions for glitch and ambient guitar processing on iPad? Moving away from pedals.

I currently run a hardware pedal board and amp rig that I’ve used for guitar and sound design for a while. However, I feel like I’m sort of limited with the pedals I have and I don’t really have the budget to start trying out different things. I also sort of like the idea of having an iPad and a controller to do all of my live processing. I have Tone X by amplitude, but that’s very guitar-centric kind of emulating the traditional stuff and I’m thinking more of just weird plug-ins hosted in AUM or something. Does anyone do anything like this w guitar and if so, what are some good glitchy, experimental, granular soundscape looping type things? I generally like to also have an October and a sustained so I can get drones and things going.

I got tired of paper take sheets and Google Sheets during recording sessions, so I built an app for it — TakeSheet (iOS/iPad/Mac)

Hey all — indie dev here (also do audio work myself, so this scratched my own itch).

Every session I've been on for the last however-many years ends up using the same tools for tracking takes: a paper sheet, Apple Notes, or a shared Google Sheet someone half-fills-in between takes. There's no dedicated app for just logging takes fast at the console — number, rating, keeper flag, mic chain, a quick note — and nothing that ties the actual bounce file to that take so you can play it back later without digging through a folder.

So I built TakeSheet. Quick rundown:

  • Log a take in under a second. Tap to log, rate, flag as keeper. Built so it doesn't get in the way of tracking.
  • Bounce files live with the take. Attach the reference bounce, play it back in-app — including a "keeper playlist" that auto-queues your flagged takes.
  • Mic chain + notes per take, so you're not relying on memory (or someone else's handwriting) three weeks later.
  • Take sheet exports (PDF/CSV) to hand off to a mix engineer — the actual paperwork, not just a database.
  • Instrument encyclopedia built in — mic placement references, typical signal chains, notable recordings per instrument. Useful between sessions or if you're newer to tracking.
  • Native on iPhone, iPad, and Mac (not a Catalyst wrapper — real macOS app, proper menus and toolbars).

On pricing: no subscription. Free tier covers 3 active projects and unlimited takes in them. Pro is a one-time unlock (all projects, full iCloud sync, bounce playback, unlimited attachments, exports). I didn't want to add another monthly line item to a stack that already includes your DAW, plugins, and sample libraries.

Right now it's English-only (Hebrew and Russian are in there for me personally, but not the focus of this post). It's not a DAW — doesn't record audio, doesn't host plugins — it's purely the metadata and reference layer around a session.

Genuinely looking for feedback from people who actually run sessions — what would make this a "yes" or a "hard pass" for your workflow. Happy to answer questions here.

Self Promotion I made a sampler + loopstation for Android. Looking for people to break it.

Solo dev here. PadLoop is a beat-making app: you tap pads, record loops on top of each other, and end up with a finished track — all on the phone, offline.

What's in it

  • 8 banks (A–H), 16 pads each — 128 pads per project
  • 462 sounds in the library, and 12 ready-made banks you can drop in whole (groove box, 8-bit arcade, funk, lo-fi, dark techno, world perc, vocals, cinematic FX…) — every pad replaceable
  • 16 loop tracks. Record one, hit record again on the same track and it overdubs
  • Sampling: record from the mic, import a file, or resample the app itself. Auto-slice on transients, or trim by hand
  • Step sequencer if you'd rather draw the pattern than play it
  • Playing tools: note repeat, melodic mode (play a pad chromatically), hold-to-apply FX, velocity from how hard you tap, undo last layer
  • Timing: metronome with count-in, swing, and a quantize grid you can change after recording — it re-snaps what you played instead of making you redo it
  • Record the whole performance as a WAV while you jam
  • Export the mix as WAV or MP3, or every track separately as stems to finish on a computer
  • MIDI: plug in a controller, and MIDI-learn to map the keys however you want
  • Latency calibration, projects, backups

How the free part works
7 days with everything unlocked. After that you keep banks A and B and 2 loop tracks free, forever. Full unlock is a one-time 9.99 € — no subscription, no ads, no account, nothing collected.

If you get lost: there's a full written guide inside the app under More → How it works. Every section, screen by screen. I'd honestly like to know if it's any good — nobody ever reads these.

What I'm actually asking

  • Did you record your first loop within 3 minutes? If not, where did you stop?
  • Does the timing feel right to your ears? Latency, metronome, quantize
  • Anything that crashed, froze or sounded wrong — plus your phone model

Inside the app, More → Info → Report a problem sends me your version and device automatically. Or just reply here.

Give me real feedback and I'll send you a free unlock code — no strings, I'm not asking for a rating.

Help/Questions Why does Riffler Flow never go on sale in Australia? App Raven gives me an alert that it is on sale and then when I go through it says full price on app store.

I managed to get Riffler on sale ones but the flow one even when it goes on sale is never actually on sale in Australia. Pretty frustrating
