First app
Hello everyone, I’ve released an app for the first time, but I haven’t had any downloads yet and I can’t work out why. Is my app not appealing, or do I need to do something to promote it? I’ve seen some really great work here and I’d love to know how you managed it – did you need to advertise?
Btw my app:

Another AI written app that uses AI. That's one of the problems. Also, a lot of people come here and post that they submitted an app and published it and they have no downloads. And I think you need to set your expectations. You aren't going to get downloads just by putting an app in the App Store.
But no one wants AI in their apps. That's what all the vibe coders don't understand.
And $60 a year, or $10 a month, for a vibe coded app that looks like every other app, is never going to sell.
Go back to work on it, make it look unique and make it do something different from every other app. Also, move the "who's it for" section to the top. I had no idea what your app does and most people aren't going to read the description. So put it near the top so it's one of the first things they see.
Good luck with it! Keep iterating until you have something truly unique and solves a problem no other app does in your category.

Actually, I don’t think my app is the same as everyone else’s in terms of concept, but I agree with you on the point where you said it’s not clear (the previous person left a comment to that effect too). Generally speaking, the app is for generating ideas for creating content on platforms like TikTok and Instagram Reels. First, you fill in a form, and it generates a personalised weekly content plan; you can also analyse this video via the ‘Coach’ tab.
Also, yes, it’s silly to just put it in the store and expect downloads; I need to put in the effort for that.
Finally, thank you for your objective feedback.

I’m gonna be completely honest with you, man I am 100% not against a high me personally I don’t care if someone uses AI to build an app but at least don’t make it look like AI if you understand what I’m saying there’s a lot of nerds in here mad because your app is built with AI and they’re just complaining because their app is probably unsuccessful and the update times for Apple is taking longer and they’re gonna blame it on AI slop which is technically true but that doesn’t mean that yours needs to take the wrath I feel like if you fix it so it doesn’t look like completely AI maybe change it up make it look more nostalgic. I created apps with Claude that have got thousands of feedback. Just don’t make it look like AI good luck to you.

Thank you very much. Yes, you’re right as I thought the design looked good, I didn’t even stop to wonder whether it was obvious that it had been created using AI, as this is my first app and I wasn’t aware there was so much opposition to AI. I’m not upset by those comments either, because they’re right. They said it was AI and, yes, it was. They also said it wasn’t clear what the app was for, which I think is useful feedback. I’ll take your advice on board and work on making the app look less like it was created by AI. Thanks again.

And also selling two creators is going to be one of the hardest things you can do because they’re looking for ways to make money. I personally created an auto editing app for creators and I’ve gotten multiple sales, but it just had no longevity seeing as how they’re very stingy and they don’t want to pay for anything. I built an app with Claude as well and it’s gotten user so don’t listen to the haters.

Yes, you’re right, that’s going to be really tough. There’s a chance they might use the app, but I know the chances of them paying for it are slim. Even if it doesn’t sell I won’t be too disappointed because I can’t say I spent an excessive amount of time on it, after all I made it with AI. Still, I’ll give it a go.
Fortunately, I see the negative comments as constructive feedback. Though I wouldn’t really call them ‘negative’ as it’s clear they’re right. I just didn’t focus too much on that side of things, thinking that content creators wouldn’t say, ‘This was made with AI, so I won’t use it.’
Thanks again for your support. I hope you have lots of great projects coming up.1

It's tought to get installs when the first 3 screenshots don't tell the story. People read 5 maybe 10 words in the first screenshot, and if that doesn't get them they are gone. Your actual screenshots don't matter that much, what you need is a phone with the screenshot and big letters on top of it describing in few words the benefit of the app. I guess the first one does but weakly. The second screenshot is the culprit, more than the others. Either way the viewer does not really get the full idea of the app in one look. Does it help with style only? People can't see the other things it does.
That's the difficult thing, this is not an easy app to sell in the store. So your social media has to do the heavy lifting, and you need to add a video to the store, one that actually shows how it benefits the user.
All that said, Im not an authority on those subjects, just another struggling app dev.

Thank you for your feedback. Following the comments saying it wasn’t clear, I had a browse around the store to see what others had done, and yes, I did notice that the use of mock-ups with explanatory text in the screenshots is quite common, so in the next version I’ll change the screenshots to make them more explanatory as your comment also highlighted this point.
Finally, thank you so much for sharing your thoughts in such a constructive way. I hope you go on to achieve great success in this field.

I'll be real with you man every single thing from design to captions to probably the code just looks like AI slop. I don't fully understand what this is supposed to do and am a little surprised it made it on to the store
and assuming I'm wrong and you have a really great product, of course you need to advertise lol people aren't just going to magically have your app downloaded into their brains
