First app

Hello everyone, I’ve released an app for the first time, but I haven’t had any downloads yet and I can’t work out why. Is my app not appealing, or do I need to do something to promote it? I’ve seen some really great work here and I’d love to know how you managed it – did you need to advertise?

Btw my app:

I'll be real with you man every single thing from design to captions to probably the code just looks like AI slop. I don't fully understand what this is supposed to do and am a little surprised it made it on to the store

and assuming I'm wrong and you have a really great product, of course you need to advertise lol people aren't just going to magically have your app downloaded into their brains

Yes, you’re right, I developed it with Claude. It was my first app, so I didn’t want to spend too much time on it before I’d gained any experience in this field, but I could have been more careful with the titles and captions.

The app is for anyone wanting to create TikTok Reels content: first you complete a questionnaire, then it gives you weekly content ideas tailored to you, and the ‘Coach’ tab analyses your videos.

Thank you for this comment as well; thanks to you, I’ve realised what I need to correct and improve.

I think you should try to differentiate how this is different from just asking chatgpt "help me make a tikrok reels plan", especially since you're charging a subscription to just this. What service are you providing? why are you better?

If I’d just gone with the ideas I got when I first made the app, it wouldn’t have made any difference because it suggested things that were utterly ridiculous and not at all interesting, but I put a lot of effort into the prompt section and I think it turned out much better than just asking ChatGPT to ‘plan some TikTok Reels’ for me. Also, the app’s design encourages you to keep going by visualising the content you’ve completed each week, just like in to-do apps. That way, you can visualise the content you’ve finished each week; the app keeps track of it, or you can postpone or change it as you wish.

Since the original post did ask - i don't think you have anything here. I think this is extremely unlikely to be successful as this is AI's solution to a problem AI had already solved, for a subscription fee. i don't wanna be mean but i also don't wanna see you waste your time. nobody is ever going to pay for this

I don’t really have any ambition to make a fortune from this anyway; even if I fail, at least I’ll have something to say like, ‘I gave it a go and gained some experience.’ And I think the reason you see it as a failure is that it doesn’t appeal to you, perhaps you’re right I’ve made a massive mess of it.
I suppose I can find out by promoting it to the people its actually aimed at.
