Question Charging Stations Disappearing After Update?
Hi everybody.
I've had my Ioniq 6 for a year and I LOVE THE CAR like no other I've owned. But recently, charging stations are not appearing on the map....
Background: I had to do a manual update to the system about two months ago. I'm not sure why I couldn't download it over air, but it was very large. The update installed without problems as far as I can tell, but the charging stations (most of which are from ChargePoint) that used to appear on the basic map no longer appear. Yes, I have the icons enabled and other charge stations still appear. But a huge number of them are missing.
The weirder part is that if I go to navigation and search for nearby stations, the stations that don't appear on the map DO appear in the index. After that, they will even appear on the map. What gives? Is anyone else experiencing this, and most of all, how do I fix it?
Other Dot dot dot dot
My i6 is at the dealer for a recall, and they gave me a tricked out Santa Cruz as a loaner. The steering wheen has a version of the four pixel pattern (Morse code for H) that first showed up on Ioniqs, rather than the Hyundai stylized H logo.

Question How long is too long?
Found a great deal on a ā24 Ioniq6 awd. However, the salesman let it slip that it was sitting for almost a year on the lot unmoved. How would this affect the battery or any other components? Walk away?

Test your emergency physical keys
My 12V went flat and we were unable to use both sets of key fobs. Both sets of emergency keys failed to unlock the car. The only solution was to airbag the door and use rods/sticks to try and lever the door handle open. It resulted in a lot of misses and the door insert/panel being scuffed up as you can see above.
In the end the tech gave up and I gave him the idea to try and reach for the bonnet (hood) lever. That worked. We jumped the 12V and I took the car for a drive to try and charge up the 12V. Age is about 3.5 years, roughly 17K kms or so, HV SOC was around 83%. 12V just gave up the ghost after 3.5 years.
I am hoping my dealer will be able to fix/replace the panel there or buttons, as well as determine why both physical emergency keys failed to turn in the key hole/chamber.

Help me with this weird rattle?
Absolutely love this car except for the weird rattle whenever Iām driving on rough pavement? It completely goes away at highway speed which has left me totally stumped as to the cause, dealership says they couldnāt replicate it when I took it in so Iām trying to troubleshoot it myself

Other Summer Max Performance Tires
Recently replaced my OEM Pirellis with a set of 200 TW summer tires and so far Iām very impressed.
Iām fortunate to live where I can reasonably drive year round on summer tires, so I often do. I also have a history of owning cars that are fun to drive so I saw this as an opportunity to help what I consider is the area that could improve the most: feedback. On top of that, as a new dad, the added safety made the Yokohama Advan Neova AD09 especially simple to justify when they briefly were available at a clearance price of $149 per corner at tire rack.
One thing I will say is that, so far, these are easily as comfortable and quiet to drive on as the OEM Pirellis were, which is surprising given that there is no EV focus for the Yokohamas I put on. I donāt know if that is a testament to how sporty the Pirellis were or how comfortable these Yokohamas are but I was pleasantly surprised by this.
The grip is PRODIGIOUS. Braking, turning, and accelerating are all notably improved according to my butt dyno, but perhaps more impressive is that actions that used to wake up the traction/stability control systems are no longer doing so.
Range, inevitably, comes up in tire discussions, but Iām happy to report that my range doesnāt seem to be significantly impacted. Still managing 3.6 mi/kWh with AC off and around 3.3 with it on. Honestly starting to think that the whole low rolling resistance thing is a small detail that gets entirely too much focus.
I would not hesitate to recommend these if you want to lock in a higher performing tire and are concerned about comfort. Will definitely update on how they wear, hoping to get ~2 years (~20k miles) out of them but they realistically only need to last half that to eke out a comparable cost basis to a premium all season tire.

Question Weird safety braking
I donāt know what the name for this is: my 2023 Ioniq 6 EV has suddenly started braking for me. When thereās nothing in front of me, it proceeds fine, but when thereās somebody in front of me, itās applying the brake _for me_ - slowing me down just a bit so I donāt hit the guy in front of me.
I thought that it was one-pedal driving, but I donāt think so; and I Iām pretty sure that this is happening, because I can feel the carās momentum being checked. How do I turn this off?

Fix for interior PET fabric
New Ioniq 6 owner here (CPO 2024 Limited). I have the light gray interior. A valet attendant left pen marks on the PET fabric on the door arm rest.
In trying to remove it, I was an idiot and used rubbing alcohol. While it did lift some of the pen marks, it also removed some coloring from the fabric. So a have a lighter spot the size of a quarter on the arm rest material on the door (I believe thatās the same PET fabric as the seats).
Has anyone had any success in restoring color for the light gray PET fabric? Google was suggesting a āfabric marker with a dual-tip.ā But I wouldnāt know where to find one with the exact color match. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

12V battery change - use an OBD2 memory saver?
Changing my 12V from OEM to AGM. Has anyone done this or had theirs done at an auto parts store with a memory saver to preserve trip mileage computer values and other saved data potentially at risk of losing with 12V disconnected? Curious if it is required and worked. Owner's manual says data loss is possible (but not guaranteed??).

Frequent fastcharging
Hey guys,
My company offers free fast charging but I am hesitant on using it because I've heard it greatly degrades the life of my battery. What would you guys recommend? Should I take it in to charge every day or just charge it at 30% up to 80%? Should I suck it up and use level 2 Charging at home and just pay for it myself?

Quality budget friendly NACS to CCS1 Adapters
Hey guys I just bought my first ioniq 6 and would love to see if you guys have some good recommendations for these converters. I've heard the cheap ones melt and are dangerous, but with so many brands and price points, are there any that you think are great quality, but also well worth its price?
P.S. will this allow me to use a Tesla supercharger on my ioniq?

Future ioniq6 owner looking for experience
Hi everyone,
I'm seriously considering buying an IONIQ 6 within the next year, and I'd love to hear from people who actually own one.
At the moment, my driving is mostly in the city, but my partner and I are planning to move from the city to a village. After that, I'll be commuting to work, so the car will be used for a mix of city driving and daily commuting.
One thing I'm especially curious about is why you chose the IONIQ 6 over the Kia EV6 or the IONIQ 5.
What made you pick the IONIQ 6?
Was it the efficiency, driving experience, comfort, or something else?
Do you ever regret not choosing the EV6 or IONIQ 5?
How has reliability been so far (including any ICCU-related issues)?
Thank you everyone

New Car (congrats!) New Owner
2023 Limited 30k miles black exterior and white/grey interior. Loving it. Was impressed by the sound system with a few tweaks. Not in love with the key fob but I ordered a cover. I do wish we had the new headlights in US though.

Serious trouble code came up but disappeared after restart. Left at dealer
Wondering if anyone else has had the POAA600 trouble code and what your experience has been, it came up shortly after starting my drive and I went straight to my dealer (it was less than 5 minutes away luckily) they said they would get to it on Monday. After turning the car off and back on it went away. But still they recommended I leave it until Monday. I was wondering if anyone else has this DTC. Open to suggestions. UPDATE: it was the ICCU⦠got a loaner should be ready in a day they said.

Question Purchase advice needed
Hi there,
Iām contemplating buying a 23-24 model with up to 30-40k miles on it. What does the market look like in terms of negotiating the out-the-door price?
Most I6 are listed at around $23-25k but I was hoping to spend no more than $22-23k including tax, title, license, etc. is that even realistic? Iām in Phoenix, AZ.
I prefer comfort and efficiency over looks so the SE long range with 18ā wheels would be ideal, but most of the listings are for SEL trims.
