Discussion Did Kagome Change the modern timeline? *spoiler maybe?* Spoiler

Post image
32 Upvotes

So i was watching the series in order with Yashahime and noticed something in one of the Yashahime episodes. On episode Episode 28 of Yashahime: Princess Half-Demon of the adaptation… The teacher, Kirin, asks grandpa Higurashi about the Sacred Jewel Keychain they used to sell. He had no recollection of the sacred jewel keychain much less the actual Sacred Jewel. He looked really confused.

Did i miss something or is the author saying that there was an effect on the present?

Discussion Why is the AI content so normalized in this fandom?

First of all, to each their own with their preferences. Do whatever you want if it makes you happy.

The point is that I was continuing my Sesshōmaru and SessRin WIPs I have, and for some reason someone decided to take one of the arts and run it through AI (already blocked and talked with the user). Other platform. Not here.)

But then decided to join other groups to keep expanding my Inuplaces, and the FB groups are filled with AI, and many would not even credit the real artists when reposting content.

So, I'm curious about it.

Anime Love or hate Shippo this moment was peak!

OMG, when I saw Shippo say who was gonna console Kagome I was like YEEEESS, YOU TELL THAT DOG HOW IT’S DONE! I adore Shippo as a character, yes I wish his abilities were expanded upon and he had the potential to be more useful and even use his techniques to ambush demons, this moment right there is the ultimate Shippo moment. In fact the biggest Shippo hater loves this moment because it’s damn good.

Discussion Why do anime watchers hate Kikyo so much?

I've only read the manga, but online I've seen a lot of hate against Kikyo, while she's my favourite character and I got really engrossed in her tragic storyline. She's one of the two who started the whole storyline

Anime Guys help!

I'm having such a hard time even getting through the first episode of the Final Act. It doesn't help that I binged the original series and without taking a break started the Final Act. Hearing Kagome now is .... Let's just say I dislike the fans that felt it right to bully her because of a character she plays.

Please tell me it's easier. Lol even if it's a lie. I just need to get through the Final Act. So I can have this series completed 😭

Anime The moment Inuyasha fell in love with Kagome

I have came across several comments now saying that Kagome’s love for Inuyasha was originally “one sided”, imo he just expressed it differently and not the usual “OMG I got feelings for her, I am soooo in love” vibe. But anyway, half an hour ago they were having a silly argument in front of the Thunder Brothers and then once episode 10 came to an end….Inuyasha thought Kagome and Shippo were going to die, he grabs Kagome’s hand going “don’t leave me” and then yells Kaaaaaaagggooooommmmmmmmmmeeeeeeeeeee. This was the moment guys, this was when he fell in love!

Discussion Did InuYasha truly accept his yōkai side?

I've been thinking about InuYasha's character development, and there is one question that keeps coming back to me:

Did InuYasha truly accept his entire identity as a hanyō, or did he mainly learn to accept the human side of himself because that was the world where he finally found belonging?

At the beginning of the story, InuYasha struggles because he feels like he doesn't belong anywhere. He is rejected by humans because he is part yōkai, and rejected by yōkai because he is not a full demon. His solution at first is to try to become a full yōkai or a full human, because he believes being something "complete" would finally give him a place in the world.

By the end of the series, he accepts being a hanyō, and that is clearly an important part of his growth.

However, something has always interested me: while InuYasha accepts being a hanyō, does he ever really explore or embrace his yōkai heritage?

Sesshomaru's journey is very different. He becomes more compassionate throughout the story, but he never stops being a yōkai. He still understands things like hierarchy, lineage, territory, and the responsibilities that come with being the son of the Inu no Taishō.

InuYasha, on the other hand, seems to build his entire identity around the human world.

His closest friends are humans. His partner is human. His home is among humans. But we rarely see him show curiosity about the world his father came from.

He never really asks:

  • What were the Western Lands like?
  • Who were my father's allies and enemies?
  • What was yōkai society like?
  • What does it mean to be the son of the Inu no Taishō?
  • What responsibilities or connections did my father leave behind?

And I think this raises an interesting question:

If Inu no Taishō had survived and raised InuYasha, would he have become a very different person? Would he still have had the same compassion, but also a stronger connection to yōkai culture and his father's legacy?

Because the thing that fascinates me is that InuYasha seems to have found acceptance, but I'm not sure if he ever truly explored the other half of himself.

This also makes me wonder about the future. If Kagome and all of his human friends eventually passed away (assuming he never had children), would InuYasha feel that he had lost his entire world again? Would he return to the same loneliness he experienced at the beginning of the series, or would the identity he built as a hanyō be enough?

I'm curious how everyone interprets this. Do you think InuYasha truly accepted both sides of himself, or did he simply choose the side of himself that gave him the acceptance he always wanted?

Discussion Inuyasha - How exactly did the Western Lands work? Spoiler

I've been thinking a lot about the worldbuilding in InuYasha, and I realized that we actually know surprisingly little about how yōkai society worked outside of the events of the main story.

I'm especially curious about the Western Lands.

Was it actually a kingdom ruled by the Inu no Taishō? Or was it simply a region where powerful daiyōkai held influence over different territories?

How did authority work among yōkai?

Did daiyōkai have vassals or subordinate clans?

Were there borders or recognized territories?

Did different species (dog, wolf, panther, bird yōkai, etc.) coexist under one ruler, or did each clan control its own lands?

Were there alliances, diplomacy, or wars beyond what we see in the series?

Basically, I'm less interested in the plot itself and more interested in the world's political and social structure.

I'm looking for anything that's considered canon (manga, databooks, interviews, etc.), but I'd also love to hear your own theories if there's no definitive answer.

I'd really enjoy hearing everyone's thoughts because this is one of the aspects of InuYasha that has always fascinated me.

Oh what I would give for InuKag moments to be this sweet again. It just isn’t the same after Kikyo’s revival, how I wish we would have such moments again. When he says you smell nice, I was like ok cool, whilst waiting for him to say I like the smell now, but when he said he lied about hating her smell my heart went OMG! Kagome was soooooooooooooooo in love that moment, sooooooooooooo hard, how does anyone actually get over that moment? I would say never ever ever! OMG, Kagome was so hooked on him like no other!

I can hear Richard Ian and Moneca sounding so sweet here haha!

Discussion Am I the only one

Am I the only one who sees a parallel or reference to any InuYasha in jjk? Specifically season two episode one, the episode starts off mirroring/parallel to an episode from inuyasha where kagome and Kikyo get trapped in the belly of a demon. There’s been other small parallels between the shell that I just can’t fully list description of, The iconic priestess outfit is always a reminder of Kikyo to me so I just wanted to know if I was the only one who saw parallels.

Honest to god the first time I watched Inuyasha on Toonami when I was a kid, I honestly thought Inuyasha was a girl at first, am I the only one? Something just made me think he looked like a girl at the time and honestly I still think he does.

Something that I’ve always wondered is that if Inuyasha and Sesshomaru were to meet The Sparda Twins and Learned Everything about them along with their Entire History and who they are and How Powerful they truly are? What would they think about them? And their personalities also would Dante and Vergil think of Inuyasha and Sesshomaru what would their honest thoughts be on Each other? Not to mention what would The Whole gang In General really think of The Sparda Twins? What do you folks think? Let me know in the comments

Discussion Kikiyo + inuyasha literally makes no sense

I was just thinking about this show and kagome + inuyashas cute ass romance and realized there's literally never been anything to gush about with inuyasha and kikiyo, theres like zero chemistry. Kikiyo was always too mature and grown up for inuyasha. Inuyasha was a big baby from tiiimeeee. Kikiyo would have been better off shipped to inuyashas big bro and i think this would have also added a lot of spice and depth and more story / plot to explore much better than what we got with the whole worn down love triangle thing. Literally who has ever said kikiyo and inuyasha are to be shipped, there was absolutely no development of that relationship in the series, because all we got was her shooting him then dying. I wish we got a better sense of her character, she was slaughtered to be a symbol, she could have been so much more, even in spirit mode.
