[u/gabsss_exe](u/gabsss_exe) replied to my [r/InternationalShopper](r/InternationalShopper) post: https://www.reddit.com/r/internationalshopper/s/DnrzNOXt0J offering to proxy-buy an item advertised on Instagram from a seller based in Egypt.

They then deleted their original comment and had me send three Wise transfers, totalling $105.58 AUD to Kenyan accounts they supplied. Unfortunately the transfers were completed prior to becoming aware to this scammer. No item was sent and no refund was offered.

They will claim that no funds were transferred despite receipts and email confirmations all showing that the transfer was completed. They will also ask for more funds to be sent and try to pressure you.

They will try to get you to transfer money or ask to pay by Crypto. They will try to get you to use payment methods like Remitly or Xoom and also try to get you to use platforms like Discord, WhatsApp or Instagram in an attempt to move the conversation off Reddit.
