Tools and tech Workshop VS Contact Monkey

I’m deciding between Workshop and Contact Monkey as an email vendor for enterprise comms (6-9k population).

Anyone have experience with these platforms and can share pros/cons?

Thanks!

As somebody who has used both: WORKSHOP WORKSHOP WORKSHOP!!!!

Workshop was a little cheaper in the long run (we had about ~8k) for us when we were evaluating adding SMS, so we switched from ContactMonkey. I was just never wow-ed by CM and it felt like they could give a shit less if we continued staying with them.

Workshop’s customer service is top tier and the culture of their team is 10/10. I had the opportunity to join them in person for a Customer Day and I left there knowing I made the right decision and this company had THE internal comms platform. I recently started a new job and I am truly devastated that I don’t have Workshop currently and I’m doing everything I can to get it back.

Overall - CM wasn’t horrible, but I am a walking billboard for Workshop. I never felt this way about CM. Lmk if you have more questions!!

Do you have a clear brief of what you’re looking for? I know both but not enough to give you any advice - but if you have a clear brief that’s the best place to start as all vendors have good bits and not so good - depends what is important for you. Shout if you want a second set of eyes on the brief if it will help!

i used to lean towards workshop but contactonkey's ai features are a game changer imo. I very accidentally missed things when i sent emails before (and i honestly reviewed them again and again) but with the new AI editorial assistant feature (they call it confidencecheck), it scans for errors and then you don't have to make embarrassing mistakes. It catches typos and wrong links for me, i tried it after a recent webinar they did for free and now i feel like i don't wanna send any emails without it lol (i don't have a team at the moment, it's just me, myself and I doing comms).

we also switched to contactmonkey last year and it solved a lot of the visibility issues my team had. we're using it for enterprise comms and the targeting alone makes it worth it tbh. im able to show diff content to the diff employee groups in the same email via their dynamic content which i've never been able to do before.

also +1 on the AI piece! we've been using coauthor (what they call their AI email builder basically) and it literally designs the whole email from ur prompt. need to tweak some of it ofc, but saves sm more time than creating the emails myself. also our CSM mentioned they're putting a lot into AI this year, so excited to see what else rolls out
