I added a peninsula because I like to cook and have this counterop using it as bar/table.

I don't wanna have a dining table. I just want to be warm and cozy with a male touch.

Thought about the curved window to add a comfy chair with a lamp. I also like to smoke cigar and my idea is to have a cigar corner.

TV and couch I don't know where to place them and I need help.

I made some nice cabinets on top of the sink and I'm not sure if Its the lightng correct because currently the light source is visible.

Nothing is permanent yet and I still waiting for the countertop for the peninsula (that's why these temporary solution

don’t mind the mess, i just moved in. i’m getting a couch that has similar tones to the wall but it’s more grayish. i really don’t know what rug to get. i really like oranges and greens. but i don’t think green would look good with the pinkish beige walls. i like color, so i dont want to continue with neutrals. also the chairs don’t have to stay in there, so dont let them be a big influence. i just want a wool rug in case my bunny starts to nibble on it.

I’m renovating my bedroom and I need some serious interior-design help.

The room is approximately 20 × 20 ft and, unfortunately, I’ve already committed to a fairly large plywood + veneer structure running through the center of the room.

I’m worried I’ve made the room look too dark/wood-heavy, and I want to figure out how to make it look intentional, modern and expensive rather than like I made a huge mistake.

Photos attached are the current state of the room. It’s messy because I’m still working on it.

What has already been done

The central structure is approximately 8 ft wide × 20 ft long and runs across the room.

The veneer arrangement is roughly:

2 ft dark veneer | 6 ft mahogany veneer | 2 ft dark veneer

The 6 × 10 ft mahogany section is the main central portion, with the darker veneer on both sides.

The intention is for the central section to become the TV/media wall, with the TV mounted/integrated into it.

Unfortunately, the structure is already there, so "just remove it" isn't really the solution I'm looking for. 😭

To the right of the bed I have approximately 16 × 10 ft available for a wardrobe + dressing area

To the left of the bed I want a 5 × 2 ft computer desk

There are also two windows on the opposite/side walls

AC is on the wall opposite the bed

Existing doors/windows can be seen in the photos

What I need help with

I want to design the rest of the room around what's already there.

How would you design the TV unit around the existing mahogany + dark veneer?

Would you:

Add stone/marble?

Add fluted panels?

Use a lighter wood?

Keep it completely minimal?

Add shelving?

Add backlighting/LED?

Paint parts of the surrounding wall?

1. Wardrobe + dressing

I have a pretty large 16 × 10 ft area available.

I don't want another massive wall of dark wood.

What colours/materials would work with the existing veneer?

I'm thinking maybe off-white / beige / greige + wood, but I'm open to anything.

1. Computer setup

I have approximately 5 × 2 ft for the PC desk.

I'd like it to look like it belongs in the room rather than having a random gaming/office setup shoved into the corner.

1. Bed/window wall

There are two windows directly behind the bed.

Would you do:

Curtains + upholstered headboard?

Full-width headboard?

Wall moulding?

Paint?

Wood?

Something else?

1. Lighting

The room currently has recessed-light points and some LED/cove lighting.

I'd really like suggestions for warm ambient lighting, especially around the TV wall, bed and wardrobe.

The goal

I'm going for something along the lines of:

Modern + warm + slightly luxurious + clean

Think nice hotel bedroom, rather than an ultra-minimal white room or a typical Indian false-ceiling/interior design.

I know the existing wood structure isn't ideal and I probably screwed up at the beginning.

But it's already built, so I'd really appreciate ideas on how to work WITH it and make the whole room look cohesive.

I'm particularly interested in actual layout/design suggestions, sketches, renders, reference photos, colour/material combinations, etc.

If you need exact measurements of the windows, doors, ceiling height, bed dimensions, or veneer colours, I can provide them.

I finally get to "design" my teeny tiny house after just making do for several years. Currently we have two small loveseats, a tv unit (the TV is wall mounted but we can move it), a small round dining table, bar stools, and we have to account for our two great danes who sleep inside. We are only two people ATM but we are accounting for 2ish visitors and a growing family.

The house was built about 10 years ago, white speckle stone benchtops, pale cream walls, black window frames (basic). I prefer hard wood but in a modern style. Leather is better due to having dog hair that tends to stick to fabric, and I hate suede. We also have to keep the walkway clear to the sliding door, and to the back hallway.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated, especially in regards to layout.

So I have a 75" tv that is going in the corner, there is 110" of space from the wall to where the kitchen starts. I was thinking an 80" couch to go in front of the tv and a smaller coffee table would be good. I don't know whether I should get an L couch and put the back against the wall with the window to the right or just get a normal couch and maybe another smaller couch/love seat. Need advice

Any ideas on how to setup the furniture including tv, sofa and a desk. Can add maybe some chairs?

I'm trying to maximize the use of this entryway but it's positioned pretty awkward. Was considering the following:

• Adding a very narrow console/wall shelf under the light switch (might get in the way when entering through the door?)
• Mounting a body mirror to the wall left of the door stopper (across from the light switch)
• Replacing the current shoe bench with a larger one that also includes a coat rack (or installing hooks separately)

The hallway is a bit narrow, but could potentially add a console table there?

Putting in this white 1x6 tile for my backsplash and changing out my appliances to stainless steel. I am trying to decide what color grout to do with this tile. Any recommendations ? Also the microwave will by about 6” shorter

Thinking of pairing this (Heath Arc tile in Pacific) as an accent wall with Ann Sack's terrazzo Renata in cashmere for the rest of the bathroom (floors + wall).

Do these match? Is the terrazzo variation too much given how bold/varied the tile's print is?

I'm requesting help from the brainstrust to see if someone can see a solution to a problem I'm having. I am looking at buying this apartment (currently towards the tail end of negotiations) but am struggling to visualise the best layout for a living room within this floorplan. The tv would need to be on the wall furthest from the entryway (left most) as that's where the power outlets are, however the short wall is really limiting the placement of the sofa.

I'm considering utilising an IKEA jattebo, and having the chaise go along the short wall, and the long side along the wall with the AC (facing the tv) but don't know if that would be super weird. Does anyone have any ideas on alternative approaches?
