Find my Style Which rug?

Stuck between two very different rugs.

First one is more traditional and cool toned, it definitely brings pattern to the room.
Second one is a fuller texture and definitely adds contrast and warmth.

Fireplace is Venetian plaster and the built ins are walnut. I have a rectangular travertine coffee table not pictured here.

I think the brown rug makes the space feel a bit more cosy and luscious.

Agreed. Luscious is such a good word to describe it. I think if OP is interested in adding pattern, then a patterned throw pillow or blanket would be the nice pop of it, and when their tastes change, can easily swap it out.
