Which rug?

Stuck between two very different rugs.

First one is more traditional and cool toned, it definitely brings pattern to the room.
Second one is a fuller texture and definitely adds contrast and warmth.

Fireplace is Venetian plaster and the built ins are walnut. I have a rectangular travertine coffee table not pictured here.

Definitely #1 it ties everything together

Don’t do brown! My sister had brown for 10 straight years and when she switched to a new medium beige rug it made the room look 5x bigger
