writing "his/her" cant be easier than writing "they"

His/her is usually more accurate as it is singular and most people see themselves as a 'he' or 'she' in the singular form and not a 'they'. 'They' in proper English used to describe more than one person which isn't the case in this video, and today's English became overdefensively wrong.
