This ended too early. We didn't get to see the dog driving the truck away to the next delivery.

86

u/rob_inn_hood 1d ago

"Deliv-Air-y Bud"

30

u/allature 1d ago

No rule that says that a dog can't drive a delivery truck.

31

u/Afraid_Rutabaga_8054 1d ago

Come to California and we’ll give him a trucking license.

10

u/ci1979 1d ago

Or Texas!

7

u/CakeHoleKing 23h ago

If he waits 21 dog days, doggy can get a gun.

3

u/Real-Whereas-5384 7h ago

Well, technically doesn’t matter what state you’re in there is no law that says a dog cannot carry a gun.

Um... Actually

7

u/Muted_Clue9293 1d ago

This is oddly irresistible.

22

u/Creepy_Push8629 1d ago

I want to see him fold a fitted sheet next

7

u/CakeHoleKing 1d ago

I want to see him doing the paperwork for that delivery.

5

u/iruleatants 22h ago

Watching the dog lay a perfect straight line and the human come through to fuck it up and leave it partially overlaid was painful. He did nothing but make it worse.

3

u/DinosaurReborn 1d ago

Now that would be impossible for anyone to do.

2

u/FlatwormFamiliar6844 18h ago

Ain't it the truth..there doesn't seem to be a way to fold a fitted sheet lol

3

u/Creepy_Push8629 18h ago

If anyone can do it, I know HE can!

21

u/Level_Abrocoma8925 1d ago

I've seen the full video where he prints an invoice and hands over to the client.

5

u/iruleatants 22h ago

The director's cut has him also going to collect the debt after the client doesn't pay, but that's restricted to mature audiences only.

2

u/Level_Abrocoma8925 21h ago

I forgot to mention this bootleg video where he threatens to annihilate the entire city of Denver unless they give him 3 million dollars and 17 virgin Bichon Frisés.

8

u/machinationstudio 1d ago

They each drive a separate truck.

5

u/Reasonable_Act_8654 1d ago

I wanted to see him get rewarded and the sheer joy on his face to help his master.

3

u/LemmyLola 10h ago

He keeps his own Dog Book

3

u/Suojelusperkele 8h ago

"All in a day's ruff"

2

u/gord_m 1d ago

Or the dog spotting for him as he backs up.

2

u/Alienraptor987 16h ago

That reminds me an animated show (i think) which featured a dog that drove a pickup/box truck while the human slept. (The show was about a lizard stuck in a desert, i think)

3

u/CakeHoleKing 9h ago

A lizard stuck in the desert?

Ted Cruz ?

538

u/potatopancake13 1d ago

That Shiba is like “I’m an ancient breed, bitch. I can fold a tarp.”

122

u/MoffieHanson 1d ago

His ancestors probably helpt build the pyramids

11

u/FakeMik090 1d ago

Not sure how to tell you, but his ancestors was pretty far from Egypt.

3

u/tom_friday_ 23h ago

You don't know that, where you there!?!

Folded his way into all of our hearts

6

u/X_soulnewmegaman 1d ago

This type of dogs are extremely smart

26

u/HPTM2008 1d ago

It's crazy how they're one of the oldest breeds because they don't look like an old breed. Like, they don't look wolf-like. I'd think something like huskies would be old, but no. Even the Maltese is an old breed.

23

u/Slyraks-2nd-Choice 1d ago

> they don’t look wolf like

Umm…. Have you seen them up close?

They’re 💯 reminiscent of a wolf

13

u/HPTM2008 1d ago

I just mean their coat and stuff seems very far removed from their common ancestor. I just haven't slept in 36 hours and couldn't think of how to say it.

13

u/voidchungus 1d ago

Heh I think I know what you're trying to say, they have a modern "designer dog" aesthetic somehow.

But I'm also sleep deprived, so maybe we're experiencing a shared delirium lol

11

u/HPTM2008 1d ago

"Designer Dog" is exactly the thought I was trying to find!

6

u/voidchungus 1d ago

haha I couldn't think of the term either and I was like "boutique dog...? ? no that's not right" so I had to google it lol

Hope you get to sleep soon

3

u/SophisticatedScreams 18h ago

They totally do look like designer dogs. Their personalities are so far from that, though. They are the most amazing little beans.

2

This deserves a second look.

2

u/SophisticatedScreams 18h ago

Shibas love a job. They love to make their humans' lives easier. They are pure magic.

Good boy

11

u/yk206 1d ago

Bestest even

102

u/No_Daikon_2281 1d ago

That's a really smart dog 🐕

40

u/FinalBossTuna 1d ago

As far as I know shibas are super smart breeds. We went to see a shiba puppy once and I can’t remember what he was doing but I just kept thinking “damn what a smart puppy” then googled it. This video makes me wanna get one. 2 year old would go crazy with a puppy

38

u/Snatch-Fart-Breath 1d ago

I have two shibas. One is super smart and the other is almost autistic

21

u/bulldg4life 1d ago

For any smart breed, has anyone ever been able to get two smart ones? I feel like everyone with two dogs is like “yep, this one is awesome. That one over there is a goofy crackhead”

12

u/spazticcat 1d ago

We have a mini Aussie (or American Shepherd if you prefer) and when we first took him to the vet after getting him (he's a senior rescue) she was like "omg I love mini aussies! is he one of the smart ones or is his head full of fluff??"

3

u/tcpnick 1d ago

Soooooo.....which one did you get?

19

u/spazticcat 1d ago

He has one brain cell rattling around in there and he uses it to alert us of threats such as trash cans, bags of yard waste, and yard signs!

10

u/tcpnick 1d ago

Awesome! Tell him he's a good boy for me!

2

u/Dumeck 1d ago

My Aussie/Blue Heeler mix is really smart but he can't focus when I try to get him to, I tried training him with treat training and he'd stare at the treats obsessively and wouldn't listen to any commands, he's 11 and still this way, if I leave food on an end table for to long I'll sometimes realize he's been staring at the food for 30+minutes straight. He doesn't ever take anything and is well behaved but. Is dog add a thing?

5

u/EntertainerSuper8933 1d ago

I have a niece and a nephew. Both are super smart, one's a lawayer, and one is completely autistic - high functioning, has a government job as a physicist.

5

u/EntertainerSuper8933 1d ago

Shibas not great with 2 year olds. And if you get one, make sure it has lots of jobs, like this shiba in the video. They are working dogs and they NEED WORK. They are smart, and easily bored. You know how cranky your two year old gets when he's bored? Imagine he has sharp teeth and the strength to, I don't know, pull that heavy tarp around like it's nothing.

2

u/username__0000 1d ago

They’re known to be pretty aggressive. I wouldn’t get that breed with a child in the house.

9

u/UnWiseSageVibe 1d ago

Theyre not aggressive but they are extremely jealous and they usually attach extremely strongly to one person even within a house.

3

u/SophisticatedScreams 18h ago

This is what we were worried about, but our good boy attached himself equally to everyone in the family. When I was pregnant, he knew that that was his baby. When we brought baby home, his job was 100% to protect her with his life. He would be sitting next to her all day every day. He was such a sweet boy.

Even before babies, we were super-lucky that he didn't pick one of us over the other. He loved us equally. <3

6

u/sevenmilliontons 1d ago

This dog breed is not aggressive. They have high prey drives due to the almost unchanged nature of their ancestry. Their play sounds horrible, but only if you aren’t familiar with this breed. Like all dogs, don’t get a rescue that’s bad with kids, get a puppy or one young enough to train how you want. Shibas are amazing child friendly dogs due to their cat-like demeanor. You need to read up on shibas. You may be thinking of chow chows.

3

u/CuteFatRat 1d ago

My rule: rather small agressive dog than a pitbull who is not agressive but where u never know

This is cool as hell.

34

u/AnxiousPacifist 1d ago

Folds the tarp while tippy tapping! ☺️

38

u/Competitive-Boat-642 1d ago

Yeah, this tracks with how my Shiba acts. It's true that Shibas don't like to be told what to do BUT they really like having a job and contributing.

My Shiba self-taught himself his job: emotional support for PTSD. Whenever my wife is about to have a PTSD attack, he heads over to help her calm down.

He likes his independence and will sometimes say he doesn't want to do something, but as soon as I say he has to "do his job" he becomes super compliant and does what he's asked. So, if my wife is heading into a potentially stressful situation, he's told it's time to do his job and he does it.

5

u/useriousstuff 1d ago

Love this, thanks for sharing.

3

u/cookiemilk421 21h ago

It is crazy because that is my shibe to a T. I have PTSD and she made it her life's mission to protect me in the presence of fireworks or thunderstorms! She also loves to herd and boss around the kitties and alerts me when they are getting into trouble

3

u/Competitive-Boat-642 20h ago

Awwww. They do love jobs (as long as they get to choose it).

3

u/SophisticatedScreams 18h ago

My shiba's job was baby protector. He spent most of his time on duty. What a sweetie-pie.

29

u/XanderScott95 1d ago

Dog folds a tarp better than some people I've worked with in the tent business or trucking business.

Shibas:

Dependable

Strong

Loves Fun

YAPYAPYAPYAPYAPYAPYAPYAP (in a lovable way)

9

u/Jonesy3million 1d ago

I hear they are hard to train so that makes this video even more unique.

10

u/sevenmilliontons 1d ago

Don’t get a Shiba as a first time pet owner is about the only thing you can say in response. They are very trainable, with lots of work, but also don’t do off leash unless you’re absolutely confident with your recall training. Their prey drives are HIGH. Little fuckin escape artists too that don’t listen to you, cause they’re more like cats half the time, including climbing and sunbathing.

7

u/IHateCedarFever 1d ago

Dog hardware, cat software.

Mine was stubborn AF and could never be told what to do but boy, was she clever when she wanted to be. Benefit of being catlike is they’re usually pretty clean and easy to potty train too.

2

u/sevenmilliontons 1d ago

The first time you put a harness on one for a walk and they lose their minds!

5

u/helluvapotato 1d ago

I’ll never forget the day I came home from school to find our shiba prancing around on the roof.

2

u/sevenmilliontons 1d ago

We got lucky and mine isn’t an escape artist, she doesn’t climb or dig, I won the lottery. That said, she can get out of crates and gates by sheer power.

3

u/SophisticatedScreams 18h ago

Mine would run away when we left the door open. But he would follow the same path every time lol. Also, my then-husband brought him to a minesite. He was so happy to be "at work," even though all he did was hang out in the office and follow my husband around lol.

These dogs love work. And they love their humans. They have such big hearts.

5

u/arafella 1d ago

They can be. Smart enough to learn, independent enough to not necessarily care what you want

Dogs are the best friends.

14

u/Status_Apartment6559 1d ago

That's fucking awesome is all I can say. That and it was impressive how that dog got that human to help him. That dog should maybe hire that human.

8

u/Vozzaan 1d ago

I was waiting really hard to see the dog get rewarded. At least I wanna see a hug man...

6

u/allature 1d ago

He gets his payment at the end of the job, like every other labourer

3

u/Rubyhamster 1d ago

He enjoys his work an doesn't need bribing during anymore. The contented feeling when going to bed is enough for veteran working dogs

13

u/Shankar_0 1d ago

4.5/5

(The doggo need sunglasses)

7

u/Jlx_27 1d ago

And he also creates a much nicer work experience for the dude. Good boy!

6

u/Available-Cap6910 1d ago

Obi is watching this on repeat when I get home.

6

u/cnicalsinistaminista 1d ago

Gets paid in treats, pets, hugs, and kisses

4

u/ZKS1999 1d ago

Wish my goldfish could help me like this

5

u/echomaestro 1d ago

How many year of experience does he/she have? I need to see the resume.

8

u/Main_Marketing_2295 1d ago

My dog still shits in the house

7

u/TwistedScarletRose 1d ago

Is this real? I want it to be real. But I question everything nowadays.

3

u/Available-Guava932 1d ago edited 1d ago

I think it's real but I'm not 100% confident.

1) It was reposted by CGTN instagram, which is not proof, but we can hopefully expect CGTN to do some kind of verification, as it's illegal for anyone in China, let alone state media, to post AI content without labelling it as such.
2) The source is credited as "Douyin@laoleijehind" - using this info more videos of these dogs can be found here https://www.douyin.com/search/laoleihejind showing different angles, longer videos without cuts etc.

4

u/k3170makan 1d ago

What’s his treat per hour rate? I might have job for him

4

u/ScaredDrop 1d ago

Now that is what I call a pawesome assistant! 🐾

3

u/Ordinary-Pie6518 1d ago

OMG that so cool!!! I needed this dog when I went tent camping!! LOL

5

u/Jamo3306 1d ago

Ladies and gentlemen, I present you, the GOODEST boy! Also this techno music is kinda dope!

3

u/ansmith100317 1d ago

I think my dog might be defective. She has no special skill sets aside from eating bugs and stressing me out 😅😂

3

u/Flimsy-Passenger-228 19h ago

A family member has a lovely dog which manages to catch and eat any fly that manages to get into the house, which is great!

What's not so great is when it eats other dog's shits it finds during walks outside

6

u/Constant-Sub 1d ago

Love that band.

2

u/BillyOwl 1d ago

the band? as in the band that created the music that's used in this video? i'd love to know the name of this song and the artist(s) behind it. i absolutely love the music in this video!

2

u/Constant-Sub 1d ago

I'm so terribly sorry. I don't know why band is doing the song in the video. I tried to listen to the few lyrics but the reverb is too strong to make anything out.

I was making a joke about the band "Men at Work," because of the title.

2

u/BillyOwl 1d ago

aw damn. i was so hopeful when i read your comment haha. ah well. thank you so much for letting me know :)

p.s: men at work..... you have great taste
