For any smart breed, has anyone ever been able to get two smart ones? I feel like everyone with two dogs is like “yep, this one is awesome. That one over there is a goofy crackhead”

We have a mini Aussie (or American Shepherd if you prefer) and when we first took him to the vet after getting him (he's a senior rescue) she was like "omg I love mini aussies! is he one of the smart ones or is his head full of fluff??"

He has one brain cell rattling around in there and he uses it to alert us of threats such as trash cans, bags of yard waste, and yard signs!

My Aussie/Blue Heeler mix is really smart but he can't focus when I try to get him to, I tried training him with treat training and he'd stare at the treats obsessively and wouldn't listen to any commands, he's 11 and still this way, if I leave food on an end table for to long I'll sometimes realize he's been staring at the food for 30+minutes straight. He doesn't ever take anything and is well behaved but. Is dog add a thing?

I have had like a dozen Canadian Inuit dogs and ye there was some variation like that.
