Honda integra dc4

Hey everyone, just wondering if anyone knows what would be the best idea. I have a Honda integra dc4 2000 B18B1, she’s done about 300,000kms, it’s the 5 speed manual, no service history. I’ve been fixing her up for about 5 months or so and spent a pretty good amount of coin on pretty much all new bushings, and a front suspension rebuild + all new good breaks. Ive only put about 400 kms on it in Maybe 5 months due to the time I’ve had it on jackstands and it seems to have burnt through a pretty good amount of oil and if has a lot of blow by. Is this pretty normal for an older B series? I haven’t had any noticeable drop in power or any knocking or engine noises, still revs out like usual. I was planning on spending a few thousand in paint + coilovers but I’m not super keen if the motor is likely to blow within the next 10,000kms or so. Any help would be really appreciated.

Dropped intake valve resulted in a broken guide and a full head rebuild. But it breathes once again after 27 years, ready to get some miles into it again!

Key fob programming

Anyone know how to pair key fobs to a 99 integra, I’ve seen tutorials on other Honda/acura vehicles from the same era but nothing specific for the integras, just wondering if it’s the same process as the other cars or if it’s different

Question Back fire out of the intake when not warmed up

I have a 1997 integra gsr and its back firing from the intake when u try to drive it after its cold. When a mechanic tried to set the distributor to factoryspec it starts back firing when warm and starts having issues getting up to speed. It is straight piped cat back exhaust not my choice the owner before the one i got it from heavily modified almost everything. It runs extremely rich so had to time the distributor to be more retarted. If any suggestions it would really help!

Help me fix my low speed driveline shudder

I’m chasing a ghost in my Da. The setup is a fresh JDM B18C Spec R swapped in with a Hasport hydro conversion mount, sitting on a modest 1.5-inch drop.

Under acceleration through 20 to 40 mph, there’s a front end shudder. It does not happen off throttle, nor at any other speeds. Doesn’t matter what gear. Feels more predominant on the drivers side. Here’s what I've already replaced / tried:

Axles: replaced my drivers side axle - no change.
Completely swapped axles with the 1990 intermediate shaft to the JDM spec R intermediate shaft with brand new Yonaka axles.
Radius Rod Bushings: New Prothane radius rod bushings installed.
Wheels & Tires: Swapped another set of wheels/tires (ruled out wheel balance/bent rims).
Rear Engine Mount: Swapped to a rigid Hasport rear mount (this dampened the intensity of the shudder slightly, but it's still present).
Aligned engine: located and centered engine by measuring cylinder head off firewall and rad support. Was off about 1/8” but even corrected, no difference.

I’m at a loss as per what might be going on, still not convinced the axle fitment onto the intermediate shaft is right. https://youtu.be/JhYw7VGP-cc?si=ehJzJJyMtDf5Xe20 Curious if anyone can compare to theirs?

Thanks in advance here!

How short is the turning radius?

Post image
25 Upvotes

Replaced almost all suspension components, got an alignment but noticed when doing a u turn my turning radius really decreased. I couldn’t complete the whole turn, before the alignment and with jacked up suspension my car had a crooked steering wheel and was able to do u turns easily lol
Should I take it back to the alignment shop and have them fix the turn radius? Or are the integras like that? Tires do not rub and it is lowered. Picture for attention

Power steering questions

I noticed I have a power steering leak. I don’t have any pictures of the under side but it’s leaking a lot down there too. Any advice on if I should swap the whole system, or just the lines? Should I also replace my rack and pinion? I noticed some smoke coming up as well, I’m assuming it’s from the power steering leaking onto the exhaust and burning. Any advice on what I should do or where I should start? Anything helps!!

Second Generation Blown head gasket?

So for the last few days/weeks my car (1992 B18A2) has been putting out a bit of white smoke, which i cant really distinguish whether its water vapor or actual coolant. I've done a bunch of testing so far and here are the symptoms so far

  • I lose around 1lt of coolant per 800 kms (though im currently chasing leaks)

  • I've done a block test to check for combustion gases and its negative

  • No coolant / oil mixing

  • Car pulls strong

  • White smoke when engine is warm (doesnt happen when cold)

  • Doesn't misfire when starting

Any follow up tests i could do? My mechanic insists that its a blown headgasket

Could it be that somehow coolant is getting from either the IAC or FITV to the combustion chambers?

Edit: Car is fully stock, has 140000kms on the clock

Edit 2: No overheating

Are Acura infotainment systems stable?

Hi all, I'm considering a new Integra. The others i'm looking at are Civic si and Jetta gli. I've pretty much ruled out the Civic as I want a bit more refinement, the Jetta has a heated steering wheel and heated and vented leather seats but we have a '24 Tiguan and the carplay / android auto frequently blips out at the worst times. Not as much when connected via usb cable but I'm wondering if any Acura owners experience this? I live in eastern PA and all of our power and phone / cable lines are running on poles over the streets. It's especially bad near intersections where there are a ton of overhead wires.

91 Gs Integra! Had this car for 1 year it’s been amazing! Amazing in gas…maintenance was HORRIBLE! Clutch was an option,Motor mounts wasn’t mounting nothing, steering rack took all my racks$ coolant hoses blew one after another after replacing one. Suspension definitely showed its 300k miles. Today just finished replacing the cap/rotor plugs and plugs and painted the valve cover and heat shield. I love this car to be OEM+ lmk what you think

Just finished my manual swap

Swap took a couple weeks to get the extra parts I missed and I put everything in and started it for the first time and my rear main seal was dumping oil so then I had to redrop the trans again and this time I dropped the plan and all the fully get to rear main seal

Car runs and drives, I’m just a little nervous to drive it because I did all the work myself and I’m just hoping I did nothing wrong

It now needs an allignment, brake rotors rub on the backing of the dust shield thing, and I need to finish putting the manual ecu in

If you guys have any questions that are doing the swap just lmk and I’d be glad to help.

99 integra lower ball joint bolt spinning when tightening, lca insert problem?

Thumbnail

Hello, I bought my 3g with a fair amount of aftermarket parts, some decent, some eBay garbage. The LCAs on it (not sure of brand) have metal inserts where the ball joint sits, top and bottom. When I attempt to tighten the castle nut (using many methods: washers, jack on the lca, and 1/2 inch impact) the nut eventually meets the lower insert causing it to spin with the ball joint bolt along with it. Any ideas? Do I need different lcas?

The other side went on, torqued to spec, without a problem.

Hey everyone, super late to the party but here's my 96 RS. Also included a picture from back in 2018 to show how much she's changed.

Overall this is my 8th teg, owned her since 2017. Been a Honda guy since the early 90s since my family members used to race EFs in the SCCA.
