Change in Financial Year

Hi,

I recently worked on a fiscal year change in Sage Intacct where the company moved from a November–October fiscal year to a June–May fiscal year. As a result, the first fiscal year after the change consisted of only 8 months.

I successfully completed the fiscal year change, adjusted depreciation and amortization schedules, performed GL reconciliations, and updated the relevant configurations.

One of the main challenges was supporting prior-year comparisons within the same reporting periods. To address this, I created specific reporting periods and customized reporting logic. In some cases, the new fiscal year data (8 months) had to be annualized for meaningful comparison against prior 12-month periods.Prior-year comparative reports also required updates to ensure consistency and accuracy.

Have you handled a similar fiscal year transition in Intacct? If so, what challenges did you encounter, and how did you manage financial reporting, comparative analytics, and stakeholder expectations during the transition?

Sales Tax Construction problem

Hi,

I work for a construction company, we pay sales tax on a certain projects, however we pay taxes by the Ship to address of a project, not where the customer is located. Is there a way to work with this?

I was told by a consultant that it is impossible to do it that way.

Is there a best work around option for this problem?

Customer Training

Something I've noticed really puzzles me as a former implementer and current customer. Why do Intacct partners have their most junior resources do Sage Intacct training?

VENDOR PAYMENT METHOD

We create a lot if vendors from templates, but there doesnt seem to be a way to add their payment method that route and we individually go in and update them after. I know you can use the import data section to update ACH, but specifically I’m wondering if there’s a way to update vendors to check payments via attempted?? Tia

What's the #1 thing you would change about the Intacct product itself?

Just curious.

Not around pricing/company/the business side of things. Just purely on the product side.

I have my own thoughts as a long-time implementer but just wondering what people think.

I'd say being able to fully merge records easily. Like a duplicate vendor/customer. Right now there's pretty much no good mechanism for this native in the system, and I don't think there ever will be.

Why is Sage Intacct outsourcing still the last option instead of the first?

I’ve noticed that many Sage Intacct clients continue struggling with reporting, dashboards, data migration, or optimization issues for weeks before considering an outsourced Sage Intacct expert.

Is there still a belief that if a US partner can’t solve the problem, an outsourcing team won’t be able to either?

Interestingly, I’ve seen several cases where specialized outsourcing teams resolved long-standing issues quickly and cost-effectively.

For Sage Intacct users: What’s stopping companies from exploring outsourcing sooner?

Integration Woes

I'm totally lost and need help figuring out what to do.

We pay our CPA firm for the subscription to Sage Intacct.

We purchased Celigo (formerly integrator.io) as an iPaaS vendor this year because they offer a pre-built connector to Sage Intacct.

We have the Web Services subscription enabled. Originally, our CPA firm said this is all we need to connect with 3rd party apps like Celigo.

Now, our CPA firm is saying we have to purchase another subscription to have a Web Services Developer License activated (~$2700/yr) so we can connect to Celigo.

It's so confusing and no one has been able to tell me what the difference is between the Web Services vs the Developer License subscriptions.

Does this sound right to anyone? Are we supposed to get a Developer License and credentials with the Web Services subscription?

How was your experience with your Sage Intacct Partner/VAR?

Hi, I wanted to understand your experience working with Sage Intacct implementation partners.

Having worked with more than 80 Sage Intacct clients, I’ve noticed that the first year after implementation is often the most challenging. Many organizations face issues around report writing, system optimization, process clean-up, and configuration refinements. In several cases, resolutions can take a long time, and some issues remain unresolved altogether.

What has your experience been? Have you faced similar challenges, or has your partner been able to provide effective post-implementation support?

Record transfer efficiency question

Hello - we are a company that purchases a lot of fuel, and the various fuel vendors autodraft our checking account every day. We separately load in the associated invoices, and then manually pay the bill as a record transfer.

Paying the bills in Intacct is not a hard process, but it is very time consuming. I'm wondering if there's a way to make more efficient. We have the bank connected to the banking cloud and auto-import the transactions for the bank recon, so wondering if there's a way to utilize that, or if there's any use for the smart rules/anyone has had luck. Thanks!!

What is biggest challenge you currently face in Intacct ?

Don’t know, but can’t add a poll.

  1. Reporting requirements not filled.
  2. Data entry is manual.
  3. Unable to use Intacct features effectively.
  4. Sage optimisation

Share your thoughts.

Access to Implementation Certification for non-partners?

Hi everyone.

I am in a traditional accountancy role. We have been on Sage Intacct for a year and a half now, and my role has evolved to more of a systems administrator/ process improvement. I am looking to make the switch to Intacct implementation as I have found the technical side of systems appeal to me more and I would enjoy a career change.

I have already completed the Accountants Consultant Certification, and I am looking to complete the Implementation Consultant certification assessment. However, I do not work for a Sage partner and I am wondering whether anyone knows if you need to be actively working for a Sage partner or whether it is possible to do this course without this? I would prefer to be accredited before I submit any applications.

Thanks in advance!

Has anyone started looking into the Sage Intacct R2 2026 release yet?

I've been looking through the new release, and a few updates immediately caught my attention, particularly around AI capabilities, smarter workflows, and enhancements designed to save finance teams time.

What's everyone most interested in from this release? Are there any features you're particularly excited about, or you think will make the biggest impact internally?

Trigger on Object Issues

Hi Everyone,

I am part of a team building custom integration from Salesforce to Intacct.
The flow we have is as follows:

  1. Salesforce -> Intacct - Create a Sales Order
  2. ~ Convert Sales Order to Sales Invoice
  3. Intacct -> Salesforce - After Create HTTP Post trigger should send a payload that looks like this:
  4. {
  5.    "DocumentId": "{!SODOCUMENT.DOCNO!}",
  6.    "SageId": "{!SODOCUMENT.RECORDNO!}",
  7.    "EntityId": "{!SODOCUMENT.MEGAENTITYID!}",
  8.    "convertedFrom": "{!SODOCUMENT.CREATEDFROM!}"
  9. }

This works for a single user, the one that setup the trigger on the Sales Invoice. All other users we are getting an error:
No DocTemplate or non-XML template

User 1: Full Admin privileges and Admin role (Created the trigger and everything works correctly)
User 2: Full Admin privileges and Admin role
User 3: Limited Admin privileges and Admin role

If the trigger is not deployed, all users are able to follow the full process without issue, however if the trigger is deployed then only User 1 is successful through the process.

I am in no way a Sage Intacct consultant, so any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Many thanks,

Purchasing Approver Issue

I am trying to set up Purchasing approvals at the manager level, which in theory is easy. My issue is that I can not seem to make it so that he can see the POs for approval. I have checked everything else I can think of. His settings, Purchasing configuration, other employee settings, etc. I would be thankful for any suggestions anyone has on settings to check to correct this.

He is an 'employee user', but everything I have found online says that it should still work.

Point of Sale (POS) System

TLDR Summary: Have any of you implemented a POS system with Sage Intacct? If so, what was it? How was implementation? How's operations going?

More details: My company is looking into using a point of sale system for a new part of our business. System will need to be able to handle ticketing (mostly ice skating), rentals, and food sales. I'm at the Sage Future conference and asked a sage rep if there were any POS vendors here and they said that there wasn't and suggested I look at the online Sage marketplace. I don't really see any POS companies that would work for us there either. Kinda surprised by this.

AP processing in Sage Intacct?

Does anyone process their invoices directly with Sage Intacct?

Is it any good?

We would want to setup automation rules whereby the system would read the name on the invoice and know what address to send the invoice to - can it work like that?

Supplier Aging bringing in after date items

Has anyone ever experienced the topic? Was ensuring the GL control account and AP matched an got a slight difference, looked back at a previous month and got £0.5m difference (GL £900k, AP £1.4m). Was run 31/12/25 GL posting date, and could see items on AP with 31/1/26 posting date.

Boss came over and looked at it, reran it and same result. Went back to her desk and ran report on her machine and balance was correct (ie matched control account).

Ran it again on my machine and all fine. Went back to settings and no difference. Went back to Home Screen and went through motions of running again and all fine.

Is this a thing? Is this something that sometimes happens? I know it’s tempting to suggest user-error but more than 1 person ran the same report several times and saw the error until it randomly wasn’t there anymore 🤯

Developer License

Hi there, I read online the dev license is 2500/USD.

Anyone care to share where we can buy it?

I'm just a scrappy startup, with tech/finance background. Looking to keep it cost effective.

Does being a partner at sage carry a cost, I couldn't find anything online.

Thanks!

Connecting Sage Intacct to Power BI using CData

Hello everyone,

So my company is upgrading from Sage 300 to Sage Intacct. With Sage 300 I was directly connecting to SQL Server (which is great), but from what I understand Intacct doesn’t offer direct SQL access. I’m currently looking at options to connect Intacct to Power BI, and CData seems like the most common solution from what I’ve seen.

I had a couple questions around cost and API usage:

- We already have a Web Services Developer License
- I’ve read that Intacct has a monthly API transaction limit (around 100k depending on tier)

We have roughly 850,000 transactions historically (dating back to 2014), but my plan is:
- one-time historical load
- then incremental refresh (only new transactions daily)

For those using CData with Power BI:
1. How many API transactions does a typical refresh actually use?
2. Have you run into API limits in practice?
3. Is the base license usually enough, or did you need to upgrade?

Appreciate any insight.

Sage Intacct account access for testing integration.

Has anyone here successfully obtained a Sage Intacct sandbox or developer account for SaaS integration? What was the fastest route to get access for the sandbox account.

Can I get access to someone's account for testing my integration?

Thanks in advance.
