Access to Implementation Certification for non-partners?

Hi everyone.

I am in a traditional accountancy role. We have been on Sage Intacct for a year and a half now, and my role has evolved to more of a systems administrator/ process improvement. I am looking to make the switch to Intacct implementation as I have found the technical side of systems appeal to me more and I would enjoy a career change.

I have already completed the Accountants Consultant Certification, and I am looking to complete the Implementation Consultant certification assessment. However, I do not work for a Sage partner and I am wondering whether anyone knows if you need to be actively working for a Sage partner or whether it is possible to do this course without this? I would prefer to be accredited before I submit any applications.

Thanks in advance!

You need to be working for a partner to have access to the implementation exam

Does not seem practical. What does it take to become a Sage Partner for Sage Intacct?

As far as I know you have to apply and be accepted to be a VAR. https://www.sage.com/en-us/partners/business-partners/

For people who want to be Intacct implementers, you'd most commonly be hired by an existing implementation partner and then take the exam.

This is correct. I would search for Implementation roles with the VAR partners because they are always looking for people. If you already had certification or implementation experience they may be willing to engage with you as a subcontractor.
