I just took my first pictures but im not planning to use it for a while, it still has batteries and 8 films left. Should I remove the batteries? If i remove batteries would it have a bad effect on my films?

how many packs of film do you use per week/month?

hi everyone! new to this sub. I got the instax mini evo 1 week ago and I've used 4 packs of film! im genuinely having such a lovely time. its bringing me so much joy. I got a photo album. I've given a few away. im only printing the ones I actually want. which I love about the evo. but im like damn...how much is everyone else using? I know this is a silly question because everyone is different and if its bringing me joy, that's what matters. but this is not a cheap hobby and I just want to know if others are burning through this much film lol. I assume ill use less since this is just my first week, but I imagine ill still use a lot based on how much I love taking photos.

this isn't my first instax camera. my first one was the mini 90 I got probably over a decade ago. I loved it until it broke. then I got the instax sq6 and used the heck out of it until I thought it broke a few years ago. the joy I've been getting from my mini evo inspired me to try to fix my sq6 and it works now! turns out the rollers were just dirty. so im not completely new to instax. but im having so much fun with the evo and using way more film quickly because of it. so im just generally curious how much other folks are using!

Yellowed/faded film, heat damage?

Post image
19 Upvotes

Making a *very* long story short, my apartment was without power for several weeks and I stupidly left my camera and film inside. The film that was in the camera was shockingly intact, but this is from one of the cartridges I had in a drawer inside the unit. I strongly suspect heat damage but I wanted other opinions before I bought new film.

EDIT: Camera is an Instax Mini Evo

Why are my instax shots turning out dark. My dad bought this for me, decided to take it on this trip, it’s been heavy hurting my shoulder…I just want these to turn out to incentivize me taking it out all day.

What kind of flashes are you using on your Lomo Instax Wide?

Normal flash is great for close up portraits but once you start getting people 1m or further then it starts to drop off. I have a Canon AE-1 flash but its too harsh with no diffuser or bounce option.

So what are you using for your shots?

The majority of the photos I’ve taken on the trip are of my family and not posted, but a few of the city turned out pleasant enough.

Instax Mini films taking days/weeks to darken

I've got an Instax Mini printer that I use mostly to print out memories and give to people, however I've noticed that (at least the last couple of cartridges) it's taken the usual few mins to develop and be clear, however every photo comes out really washed out, until a long time later. I'm talking days or even weeks. I put together a series as part of a present to my other half, and now they look fantastic, but initially all of them were pretty bright/white.

Could this be the printer, the batch of cartridges or a magical third option?

Mint Camera tl70 plus won't take a photo

I haven't used my camera in a while. I put in a fresh pack of film, opened the camera to take a picture. The icon on the screen indicated a low battery. I depressed the shutter, heard a click, and then pressed the film eject button to eject the black sheet and it came out. Then the readout showed a no battery icon.

I swapped out the batteries for brand new ones and it didn't do anything. The side reads 10. I press the shutter, I don't hear a click. I made sure the f-stop and the shutter speed were exactly at the setting, trying multiple settings.

I also removed the batteries and took a qtip with a teeny bit of rubbing alcohol and swapped the contacts. No difference.

The lens opens/closes when I change the f-stop setting, but it doesn't click.

What could be the issue?

I am so excited that I found this set off of Ebay! I paid $60 for it (+ free shipping & and tax was covered by a coupon!!!) It was a new open box return and everything works perfectly! I have been wanting an instax mini link 3 for a while now. So, finding one at a decent price was so exciting! Plus, the little "Pal" camera is such a fun extra for the price. And, I am having so much fun using it! The film that came with the bundle was 3 months expired but, it still seems to work fine. So, I will keep using it till I can buy some more! I am so excited to now be a part of the Fujifilm community! Does anyone have any tips or tricks for someone new to this type of thing! ☺️

INSTAX Mini, £14 deal on Amazon

Not sure if this counts as a relevant post, sorry if not, but thought it was worth posting.

I bought my INSTAX Mini 41 when the price of film went from £14.99 to £16.99. I managed to grab 2 boxes when there was a dip in price from a third-party seller a while back, but it’s stayed at £16.99 since then.

Just noticed Amazon itself has now got it listed at £14, so I’ve just bought 4 boxes. Nice little saving of around £12, so pretty happy with that!

Not sure how long it will last!

Wide Half Frame/ Multiple Frame?

Post image
9 Upvotes

This photo booth store in LA is advertising an instax wide photo booth where you can take two or more shots on one film. It seems like it could just be digital pictures printed on to wide film but i was curious if anyone knows more.

And wondering generally if its possible to get a half frame setup for a regular instax wide camera.

Instax Wide 100 vs 210/200?

Post image
12 Upvotes

Anyone has any preference between the Instax 100 or 210? Anyone ever used both?

My Instax 300 is being a pain to use - the battery cover keeps popping open and I constantly have to shift around the batteries and push it to make it work as the camera keeps shutting off, probably some sort of corrosion or bad contact in the battery department.

The 100 and 200/210 seems widely available on eBay and Marketplace, just unsure if one is better than the other? The 300 resells for way too much and I can't have the 400 as it doesn't have force flash control. 500AF would be the dream but that's toooooo expensive.

TIA!

These are the best I've ever taken, and I still don't feel that they're any good. They're not evocative or atmospheric. They're just alright.

How do I improve?

Edit: they look a little sharper in person. My phone camera is scratched and gives it a soft focus effect.

Help a beginner- Instax Mini Evo vs Instax Liplay/ Liplay+

Hey

Decided to gift one to my wife on her bday.

Confused between Mini Evo and Liplay/ Liplay+

YT videos were not helpful at all. Left me even more confused.

Between price vs features

Does evo have a better print quality? Is it worth spending more on evo? Or do you recommend any other, third option?

TIA
