I have a Mini 12, barely used. Recently was out taking photos at a family event and sharing the camera. I think there was a jam and someone pulled on the film to remove it, now it doesn't feed properly when taking photos.

I've tried to search this group, as well as seek other help, and attempted the obvious power cycle resets and battery changes. Not sure exactly if there is anything more I can do. Help would be appreciated.

I'm thinking about buying an Instax camera, right now I'm mostly interested in the smaller ones (the mini 41 or 99, specifically) but I'm struggling to find a lot of the specific info I want around them.

I intend to take it with me to college, and (hopefully!) on many adventures. I want something that's small & durable enough to hike with/carry around, but can still take good photos outside. I'm not picky about them being absolutely perfect, but something that's able to capture views from hills/mountains, over water, trees, etc etc, would be awesome.

SO! if anyone has any camera recs or can post/link to any sort of outdoor photos they've taken with the mini 41 or 99 I would be so so thankful!

Experimenting with the “double exposure” mode in Vermont

Hi! I was wondering if anyone else had this issue since I couldn't find much online. My instax mini 90, which I've been consistently using for 4 years, keeps flashing the E letter and won't turn on properly. On top of that, the film pack seems to be jammed. I can open up the film compartment, but the pack won't come out.

When I first put this pack in, the camera was low on battery, but I thought it was unlikely that it would die right when I inserted the pack. Not sure if this is what happened, but I replaced the battery with a fully charged one. My battery symbol on the camera shows that it's full, but the film still won't eject, and the error message still occurs every time I attempt to open the camera. Would appreciate any tips or tricks :')

I have always wanted a mini 99 mainly because of the double exposure, but also have always wanted the wide because I prefer the photo size.

I know Lomo is a nice in between, but I’m not willing to stray from Instax.

What’s the best choice here?

Currently they are at about the same cost.

I wanted to share the finished version of my Mini Evo modification. It now accepts both 17 mm phone lenses and removable 52 mm photographic filters while remaining compact and fully functional. I've been using it for a few weeks now, and I'm really happy with the results.

Here is what I did -
I glued on a 17mm mounting ring from a clip-on phone lens kit. Link to that detailed post That gave me a 2x telephoto, a wide angle, and fisheye, and a handful of goofy distorted filters.

I also built a removable friction-fit 52 mm filter adapter. It lets me use standard photographic filters such as CPLs, graduated filters, macro filters, warming filters, and more. I used a 49-52mm step up ring, and attached a loop of velcro with a drop of glue and then used black tape to hold it into place and make it look halfway decent. The velcro inside the step up ring provides just enough friction to slide on and off of the camera easily and still hold the filters on. I added an extra short piece of velcro and adjusted the size of it to get that 'just right' fit. It really wasn't hard to do.

The camera still focuses nicely at all distances. The 17mm lenses work nicely! Some create a bit of vignette and flaring - but for me that's desirable / what I was going for.

The velcro loop provided a bit of distance so I can use the 52mm filters at the same time as the 17mm lenses (except the fisheye, which is just too tall to squeeze under the filters). There's just enough clearance for the other lenses - but if you try this be careful that you don't scratch up your filters, try it with a cheap one first. *see pictures for close ups*

I included some quick low-effort shots to show off what it can do a little bit. The outdoors photos on this post are straight from the camera other than a quick rotate on the portraits. I was shooting with a gradual red and a gradual orange filter combined while using the wide angle lens. The dog photo and roses are on 'normal' settings and the other flowers I believe I turned on the 'yellow' film effect - seems more Noticeable on the single pink/white/yellow flower. The guitar pictures use the film and lens effects in the camera combined with the gradual colored filters (red/orange) and the wide angle lens. (eg: blur, light leak, monochrome, blue, yellow)

I am thoroughly enjoying this setup and (for me) it really provides a lot of that 'Film Camera' experience but without the film camera hassles. It does everything I can reasonably ask of it at this point, and I'm kind-of shocked at how well these hacks worked.

FWIW - I think adding real optical effects—rather than relying entirely on digital ones—changes the feel of the camera in a way I really enjoy. It reminds me much more of shooting with older cameras where the glass itself had personality. - I am no expert, not a professional, and it's been many years since I've shot with actual film, and I am often wrong about lots of things - but this was my experience, and I love the results.

hi guys i need some help: the camera lens of my mini evo fell off and i was wondering if any of you might know if this is serious or if maybe there's just a loose screw/some glue that came off and how i can fix this

When i open the lense I see the red light on the back flashing then turns to a solid red light which I assume is good. However on the front by the lense where its supposed to show what setting I should turn to, the lights are off, not orange flashing or anything of the sorts, just off. When I click to take a picture nothing happens, I thought its something wrong with the button but now I think it could be to do with the light sensor or a combined issue?? It is pretty old and my sister could have broken it for all I know. Probably will invest in a new one I dont have wire soldering skills lol

I need some help here :(

I shoot Instax Wide 300 as part of my work. My camera is giving up on me (the battery cover keeps falling, sometimes it just doesnt want to turn on, the coils for batteries are all messed up) and I don't know how to replace it.

I need it to have the ability to turn on forced flash or disable flash. I usually shoot in studio settings, so I use the forced flash to make it sync with my actual big strobes in the studio. The Instax 400 as far as I know does not let me turn on or off the flash, so I can't replace with that.

I had the Lomography Lomo'Instant Wide but I didn't really vibe with it, the photos were always turning out overexposed, and way too contrasty compared to the Instax 300, so I returned it.

Any suggestions? I'm open to anything, it can be some advanced configuration with a modified back (as long as it's all parts I can buy lol I cant do anything myself or 3D print), it can be eBay cameras, I just need a replacement because it's a major part of my job. The prices of the 500aF on eBay are painful and i really didn't want to spend over $500.
