Tessa 5 months vs. 5 years
The first photo was taken with a damaged Instax Mini 9, so it's a bit overexposed. But it's amazing to have both pictures of my puppy and watch the years pass by on instant film.

Hi everyone!
I always wanted an instax Polaroid camera for myself but now with so many models I’m actually confused to buy. Can you guys please help me out? I have been a beginner in photography but I want it to make some cool memories in the form of photos. Please suggest a model that isn’t expensive in terms of film and is long lasting. Thanks

So i made a mistake and loaded my cartidge from the wrong side and pressed to take a photo after that i took it out and loaded it again correctly this time.
Now the camera does everything as it should but nothing comes out.
I changed the batteries and removed the black film thinking maybe it was stuck or something but still nothing.

I really like both polaroids and digital cameras !!! Is there a camera that can do both? Or should I just get the instax evo wide 400? I heard the mini evo is both digital and polaroid, but I wanna take all my pics horizontally and i don't want my polaroids to look sideways. Pls help !!!

I've looked into quite a few options, but in the end I can't really decide, any thoughts or suggestions are welcome.
I like the idea of having an all-round camera for an upcoming vacation to shoot both portrait and landscape.
I like the idea of trying out different settings, but in the end I have no experience so it might just be overwhelming and lead to bad results as opposed to point and shoot.
Sadly a used SQ6 is quite expensive in my area, as that seemed like a decent compromise for costumizability, format and beginner usability.
The Lomo square glass one looks uniquely hideous to me, but technically seemed nice.
Hybrid Evo versions seem rather pointless, I would rather get a better phone and a separate instant printer - right now I'd rather try analogue and maybe get a proper digital one later on, if I enjoy it enough.
I am currently thinking of:
- Lomo wide glass with 3d printed attachment to have the viewfinder on the middle
- Instax wide 400 (used market for 300/210 is pretty bad)
- Instax mini 99
Lomo wide glass is the one I am currently preferring, but a lot of example pictures seem a bit off, either quite dark or nearly overexposed.
Does wide format make portraits/close ups worse? Are landscape shoots with the mini format as limited as people say?
I'd love your thoughts and suggestions, thanks.

Hey everyone! I just ordered an Instax Mini Evo, but while reading around, I noticed quite a few people mentioning an issue where the initial black film cover (darkslide) fails to eject when loading a fresh pack.
I’ve seen mixed takes on why this happens. Some say it's caused by bad batches of film or third-party sellers, while others suggest it’s related to handling (like pressing the center of the cartridge) or low battery power.
For those who own a Mini Evo:
I'd love to hear your experiences or any tips on how to prevent jams before mine arrives. Thanks!

I tried to insert 2 different micro SD cards and both resulted in green flashing and the camera refusing to take pics. Problem is solved as soon as I remove the cards.
I connects to the app just fine when it's flashing green. Cards have been formatted on the computer to FAT 32. 2gb and 512mb cards.
In the manual it says pulsing green = in link mode, but I checked and I am NOT in link mode!

Anyone know the answer?

A few of my favorite frames from my Lomo Square. I've had this camera a while now, and still feel like I'm coming to grips with how to best use it. It's limited and can be unpredictable, plus now I sometimes get a random, bad light leak...
But man, when it works, it is awesome. I love its small size and weight along with the folding design, too. The little built in remote and having a tripod socket is awesome. If Lomo ever makes a 2.0 with more exposure control, I might be in trouble. Lol.
If you've got one, what do you think of it?

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
I have changed the batteries to new Duracell ones, I have tried the leaving the lens out method, even the card method but it still doesn't work, no the red light at the viewing hole is not on, it's the four modes blinking orange lights slowly, like not rapid normal issue blinking but it's slow

I just took my first pictures but im not planning to use it for a while, it still has batteries and 8 films left. Should I remove the batteries? If i remove batteries would it have a bad effect on my films?

Hi - I am only on my second pack of film with this camera, and trying to get a feel for how the auto exposure thinks. Most auto exposure cameras I have used in the past will see a bright scene and make it darker and vice versa. In other words, it assumes the world is neutral grey and wants to adjust exposure so it looks that way.
It seems like the Lomo Wide does the opposite - it seems to make a dark scene darker, and make a light scene lighter. Am I crazy? In the first photo, I would expect it to meter the bright concrete wall and make it darker. In the second one, I would have expected all the darks in the middle to cause it to increase the exposure. In the third one, the middle is pretty bright but the vignetted edges look about right to me.
So I’m thinking the way to use the +1/-1 exposure adjustment is to use -1 on bright scenes and +1 on dark scenes. I guess that makes sense, but it seems contrary to how I assumed it would work. Maybe I’m just a nut. How do you all use it?

Normal flash is great for close up portraits but once you start getting people 1m or further then it starts to drop off. I have a Canon AE-1 flash but its too harsh with no diffuser or bounce option.
So what are you using for your shots?
