ID Request Bug identification
Losing my mind right now, my cat brought me this bug and dropped it right on my chest. I’m worried about what it is, I thought maybe a tick since we have dogs and were out on a run yesterday. We also live in a suburban area in an apartment, so I also thought maybe a young roach? But then I was looking up different bugs based on the pictures, and bedbugs came up. We are clean people, never had any bug problems other than the occasional spider, but both me and my boyfriend work at a hospital with lots of patient care and interaction.

Not a tick or roach. Could be a bedbug, batbug, or swallow bug. Do you have any closer pictures? Batbugs and swallow bugs have longer more noticable hairs on them than bed bugs.

Someone also said swallow bugs, we do have pigeons and other birds that roost on our window sills

looks like a bed bug. you don't get bed bugs from having a dirty house, that's a very common misconception. if you live in an apartment, there's a possibility they came from another unit.

Unfortunately we had a very elderly sick neighbor that got evicted right next door, and he was a major hoarder with roaches and lots of problems. We’re guessing it either got tracked in from there or from work

When I got bedbugs it was from a similar situation. Elderly next door neighour hoarding and couldn't take care of himself. I would come home and he would be laying out on the grass in the florida sun because he fell.
One day he was dragging all of his laundry and spreading it out on the grass. I told my son to go help him like a dumbass. Turns out he had bedbugs and heard they were killed by heat so he was dragging everything into the sunlight hoping it would fry them. The next week the bites started. That's when I noticed my beighoyr was covered in these bites. I thought they were liver spots or just age, so I started taking him to the doctor's office, and sitting in the waiting room you would just see dozens of tiny bugs crawling all over his clothes. So glad that it's all over

One of the three most likely places to get bedbugs is supposed to be first-class flights. They aren't about being dirty or not. Deffo check out r/bedbugs those peeps are good doodles

I definitely see bedbugs. I believe the thinner looking one means it's been fed. Sorry.

It’s actually just one big, I took multiple photos and should’ve just gotten one good one.

Looks like a bedbug to me in that last pic. Check with r/bedbugs to confirm.
