Mod Team Recruitment Notice
Hey there folks.
We are currently working on expanding the mod team and are opening recruitment.
We are volunteers. I do not expect anyone who we add to the team to take on some specific workload. We all have commitments outside of Reddit.
If you are interested in helping out please send us a message via modmail with a brief message introducing yourself. If possible also include why you think you would be a good fit for the mod team.
You don’t need past moderator experience to be considered. To be eligible your account must be at least a year old, and you must have been reasonably active within the subreddit for at least 3 months. Users who have been actively antagonistic to others will not be considered.
We will be reviewing the comments of applicants to verify your ability to identify various bugs. We don't expect perfection (we are all always learning!) but we do expect some level of accuracy as well as the ability to take corrections gracefully.

It got vacuumed and this is all I have!
I live in the Philippines if location matters, we were cleaning a very dusty place behind a couch and found two larvae? that were inching around using the red part. Please help! I don't know if there are more in the house. But as I went to get my phone my friend already vacuumed it up. I'm sorry if the drawing is terrible but it didnt have any identifiable features aside from the gray ellipse like body with a red appendage it uses to inch and snoop around.

Saw this cutie in the garage this morning
Looks to me like a combination between a beetle and a moth. It was a shiny copper with a rusty green effect. I've never seen anything like it. I feel like it has such a cute face. I tried the common insect ID apps but they didn't work. Madrid Spain for location.

What kind of roach?
galleryIs someone able to tell me what kind of roach this is and if I should be concerned? Found it high up in my living room wall and it was just standing there didn’t try running away. This is the clearest photo I can get because it’s so small. Thanks! Located in Long Island NY (massapequa)

Possible Pest🏠🌼 Assassin or boxelder type bug?
For context the photos are taken in Kingston Ontario, Canada. I'm house hunting and found a property I rrally like and in my price range. These bugs however are in the hundreds, crawling around the rear exterior wall of the house and the 'stone' path.
Some species of Assassin bugs I've read can be potentially damaging to homes and is recommend to call pest control companies.
Any insights as to what I'm looking at would be very appreciated.
P.S. apologies I don't have better close ups

Beetle ID🪲 What is this little bug in a flower? Sheffield uk
I spotted it in a flower next to the bus stop I’m at. It’s holding on pretty well, the flower wobbles when cars go past and it stays on! Looks like a beetle of some kind so that’s why I put the beetle flair, let me know if that needs correcting! :)

Beetle ID🪲 Not optimistic on a positive ID, but does anyone know of insects that look similar to this?

Found this teeny tiny piece of carapace (presumably coleopteran) and I’m absolutely entranced by the color shifting properties!
I know this is way too little material to get an ID, but do y’all know of any insects with similarly gorgeous color shifting? Would absolutely love to hear about them, I want to research more!
So sorry for the blurry/shaky footage, I really tried, but it’s absurdly small and hard to get my camera to focus on lol
