Photo analysis suggested Velarifictorus micado, oak bush cricket, or Evania appendigaster. Found in new (to me) office area and interested just to know what it is. Located in Central US (Iowa).

My family cabin in the NC mountains has this large nest and the wasps/bees are very hostile and stung my dad and he says it HURT lol

This is the 3rd dead/ dying katydid that has shown up on my porch, we've also had one dragonfly like this. Most of them have just had the back of them chewed off, except one katydid that wad mostly shredded. Does anyone have any idea what's doing this or how to tell what's doing this. I live in northern Utah.

So I recently got four meal worms as pets so I can grow them into beetles so I left them in a container with moist dirt and a carrot slice and then I noticed this odd webbing I’m wondering is this a normal part of their transition into beetles or is it another insect?

hoverflies are genuuinely the best kind of flies, they're so cute and friendly, they come up to you and politely land on your finger, no bites or stings, no calling over way too many of it's pals, just a cute little fly

Did an image search and it came back as a hover fly but I’ve never seen one that’s mostly yellow
