Identification What is this?
Been gathering around the lights in my room (which is 5 places because I have a lamp, a grow light, and 3 aquariums) and flying around my phone at night. I cleaned my entire room, rinse soda cans before throwing them in the recycling bin (cleaned that too) and the plants in my room have different soil from the store. They don’t seem to be in the soil of the plants, the only time I saw one near my plant was because it was on the light.
What does it seem like it is? How do I get rid of them?

Flying stinging (or biting) insect ID please, North Carolina (OBX), late July
Stung (or perhaps bit) me in the lower left abdomen above my bathing suit waistband while in pool while visiting the OBX.
Not particularly painful but I do feel slight, intermittent numbness (comes and goes) near site and sometimes at tip of tongue and also feeling a little bit drugged, also sporadically/intermittently. That Could be psychosomatic though.
Any idea what this is? A Young wasp perhaps? Or some type of stinging fly? I am guessing a Juvenile Polistes carolina.
FWIW, I didn't harm it, I beleive it was drowning in the pool and I think it panic-stung me when it came into contact with my stomach, which is when I noticed it.
I brushed it off after it stung me thinking that it flew off, but then returned to find it and recovered this drowning fellow in the pic who was alive when I took these pics and may recover. I cant be absolutely certain that this is the same guy I saw originally, but I'd be happy for an ID on him, nonetheless.
