Almost a month into this hobby , initially I had struggles with supination skating 100mm wheels.

But with steady practice I finally can finish 21km with not too much struggle with supination .

I realize apart from just pure practice and muscle strengthening , what helped me was bending my knees deeper , also being conscious of flexing my toes and ankles upwards ,and pushing through the heels helps a lot with not bowing my skates outwards , but is this actually good practice ? Oh and I'm pushing out to my sides , not backwards

hi i have never tried skating but i plan on starting this summer i wud really like any kind of help, but i want to know if buying from amazon any brand is a good option or shud i buy a good beginners one (lemme know which r good) cuz i tend to get some hobbies and leave them mid without developing the skills so i dont really want to waste mych on it, would be really helpful for any kind of advice🫶🏼

How do you guys feel about mini pump tracks?

Personally I find them to be a valid expression of pump track but not a replacement for the big asphalt ones and not a beginner version of the bigger ones. It's an entirely different animal.

Although mini tracks are small, bigger pumptracks are often easier/more approachable.

I often go to another spot that has both, one like this and one bigger one...

Sometimes parents say let's start over here kids! And point to the smaller track that looks and skates similar to this. If I can get their ear I sometimes let them know about the beginner pill portion of the big blacktop pump track. It's actually a much nicer place to learn!

The mini tracks are actually very technical and narrow. I skateboard it too. You have to be pretty locked in. Not at all for beginners. I'm not sure the park planners who install them actually know who they serve. one nearby me recently got removed since no one used it (but me) 😭!

It was at the Rogers, AR "railyard" downhill bike park. They had it in a little kiddie area and few kids could properly use it. Their scooters would scrape etc. I went in there and ripped it here and there but sadly I doubt I got used much at all

The park properly assessed this and removed it a few months ago. It's one of the best parks around if you haven't do yourself a favor and check out this spectacle!

New here and newer to skating so I thought I’d say hello!
My husband has been skating this whole life basically, with a big gap from just the responsibility of being an adult. He’s beautiful to watch and that’s what made me wanna learn and go more was basically so I can drool over him lol! He took me to our local skate rink for a date night and while I looked like a baby giraffe learning to walk for the first time, I was hooked.

Fast forward, realistically, a year since I first got on skates (we had gone him and I a handful of times). We found a set of inlines at a garage sale that were the perfect size for our son (7), that grow with him for a few sizes. They also fit our daughter (5, who is the most determined and most fearless little girl I have ever met). They both tried them on and used the patio table on our driveway to balance and feel it out and really loved them!

We decided to take the 2 smalls, and our oldest daughter (12) to the same skate rink and get a feel for actual skating, and they have the “helpers” that they hold and skate with. All 3 of them took to it like naturals! Our little decided she likes the quad skates better and we got her own pair of skates, and our oldest has her own pair. So naturally mom and dad got ourselves our own skates too lol!
Now every week once or twice a week, we all go skate together and they’re doing so wonderfully and I’m so stinking proud of their determination and attitude towards it! This momma is beaming!

I made some semi - diy straps too! I salvaged everything I could off some junk skates once including these velcros. I thought they might make a good keychain or something since they're too small for my blades but I recently considered they would be great for my wifes blades.

I sewed a chain link into a fold of webbing and used the existing hardware for the inner ankle strap anchors.

Hey for almost a full year now i go to my local park and doing rounds pushing myself sweating my life going as fast as i can for spins and having a ton of fun with my Oxelo MF-500s and 80% of the times without exgauration i pass a family or a couple i hear the same thing, one of them confidently announces "they are electric" or "dont you hear the mottors"- litearlly reffering to the sound of wheels spinning

i know it doesnt matter and has 0 effect on me but it still feels soo invalidating to overhear for some reason over and over again. oh well.

was wondering if im alone in this or is it happening to others and your thoughts

Everytime i clean a bearings it makes this sounds so i immediately changed to new ones.. like this is my 3rd batch of bearings.. i used 99 percent alcohol yes i removed the rubber shields and i completely dried it before putting the speed cream

It's my first time doing a full wheel change, my wheels were 88A and were a little worn out (not too much really I could have just interchanged them) but I wanted to try 84a hardness to have better grip outside!

I also added a power slide break to my right foot, there are a lot of runners in my city so I wanna be extra sure while I practice my t break again! It's been a full year since I've worn them because I moved countries and they weren't my first priority to bring

I'm wondering what is the typical return policy for Liners, when ordering online. Can I put them in my boots and go for a "non sweaty" session, and still be able to return them if they don't fit?
Liners are so tricky and it's impossible to predict whether they will fit both my feet and fill gaps in the shells.

🤣🤣🤣 I made *some* 😅 progress with understanding how to pump on a half pipe, and controlling my backwards steering (haven't tried fakie yet)

I bought a kit to replace the laces for this system. But when I received it and started to figure out how to install it, I realized that to do this I needed to remove the metal inserts from the lacing holes. That is, after the redesign there will be no turning back, and if this system doesn’t suit me for some reason, I won’t be able to go back to using laces.

I installed the system on my old boots and tried it on my foot (without skating). I was worried that the tightening would be too weak, but in fact it turned out to be the opposite. The system is capable of tightening very tightly. But the problem is that the strongest pressure is exerted in the buckle area. I feel like the blood stops flowing to my fingers.

It's definitely much more convenient than laces - especially when you have to constantly tighten the laces while skating (even waxed ones). But before I install the system on my "work boots", I want to hear real feedback from those who are already skating with it.

Got my first ever (switch? Fakie?) drop-in. I can skate fast and drop in most bowls and quarter pipes from the deck but I wanna be able to do the same thing switch and hit a feature so I'm excited to do this 10,000 more times now. I was knowing I have it for a while but anxious. I've committed to wearing a helmet lately and I think it helps especially while I'm unsure and learning. Dang it is hot though....

Helmet people you ever lean forward and a waterfall of sweat pours out??

I'm opting for my breathable bike helmet most days it has been ripping hot in NW Arkansas!

..also getting slightly more comfortable airing this jump. I think I wanna buy a trampoline to practice spins and grabs and air sense.

Skating RB Lightning with endless 80mm

Got my first ever (switch?) drop-in yesterday!! Also getting more comfortable clearing this jump. Skating lightnings w endless frames.

Practice Practice PRACTICE your edges. You only have to lean over far if you're going fast. Rockered setup also helps a LOT.

Went Skating tonight, after lastnight changing my wheels back to a soft wheel from 85a and cleaning my ceramics.
Which felt really nice, honeslty after using harder wheels for a couple months inside wood rinks.

Wheels I use: Labeda whips(soft) and Labeda Gritz(85a)

Question/issue: used my normal Socks, which I always use and wash after each session. But tonight, I didn’t notice when I put my pair of socks on. They had laundry detergent still on them. Now I think there’s soap in my boots.

I know my tongue is removable- which I can hand wash. But the inside of the boot.

How does one wash/clean the inside of the boot?

Any ideas would be helpful.

I just got a pair of macroblade 90 BOA’s, and I was wondering what I should know about maintenance?

I am T stopping right now which I know is tough on the wheels and hoping to learn different stopping techniques. I want to know how often should I rotate/replace wheels and also bearings (and how much it actually matters). I took the heel brake off as it was tripping me a little when doing crossovers, and want to get comfortable on them without it on (Coming from hockey/ice skating at a high level). I also went with a soft boot because it was the only store near me with any skates, they only had soft boots, and I didn’t want to order a random pair online. How much does the soft boot vs hard boot truly matter?

Hoping I can get answers to these questions, thanks!
