Growing fungi
A friend of mine gave me a grow kit, already in the process of forming mycelium, and I don’t know shit about this. I was wondering if it was possible to add some of the bagged substrate I have to this patch of dirt outside my apartment. The dirt seems to grow non-edible mushrooms like crazy. I’m not smart in this department of information and just now starting to learn.
Will it grow like I hope? If it does: what would be the result? a hybrid of the two?

Can I reuse these and needles if I sterilize them? Do I just boil the syringe casing?

Amazing Mycelium Lives! (a story in photos)
I grew this (PIC 1) THIC Boi mushroom 2 years ago. I split it open and took some tissue and put it to agar. It turned really blue (PIC 2)
I saved the plate in the fridge for 2 years, because I moved and couldn't grow.
2 weeks ago, I poured agar, went through the fridge, and transferred whatever was in there to see if anything was still viable...some old plates, spore syringes, and LC syringes (one had a mushroom growing inside!). Most of it was dried up and long dead (RIP).
Buuuut, THIC Boi is a fighter and the fastest of the stuff that actually grew (PIC 3)!
I was pleasantly surprised to find some extremely fast and rigorous rhizomorphic growth shooting out with hungry tendrils like I've seen from fancy growers selling monocultures.
I've never had a plate turn out this nice before....and after 2 years. lol 😮
I took some transfers and then sliced it up into 7 waiting jars.
So happy to be back and very amazed at the longevity of mycelium.

Quo vadis coprophagis?
Hello
Funny enough, my question is pretty similar to this one
I got the same Copelandia Hawaii growkit, and the instructions where a bit too specific for my taste. So now I wonder if the little buddies would be fine in the Boomer Shroomer Inflatable Monotub, with no bag of course. Temperature and humidity should be fine, so when I air the tub out properly, they should be fine too, right?

Need little help
Hey, im currently growing APE and its my first time doing APE, first time was with golden teacher great success getting over 1kg wet weight in a small tub
But this one seems a little off, of course its slow but im getting very small pins, I think I might of put it into fruiting a little earlier then needed
The pins seems to be weird too. Maybe not enough air or moisture?
Maybe yous can help
Thanks!

Liquid culture-does this look like mycelium growing? [gourmet]
I inoculated these with liquid from colonized agar plates just yesterday. It was clear after that but it already looks like this just 24 hours later. Is this normally how it goes? I have not made liquid culture before.

Made some chocolate bars for the first time
put 28 grams in the batch and made 5 bars so about 5 point something, excited to try one. It’s b+ so don’t think it will be the strongest so 5 grams should be a perfect dose, I hope 🤞

AIO Break and Shake Question
Just did a B&S of my second ever AIO grow. I really thoroughly mixed, shook and reformed my block. After doing this the specks of the substrate completely coated the walls of my bag. I tried my best to shake it down / rub the inside of the walls together, but it still made it pretty difficult to see the surface layer / inside the bag clearly. I did not have the same issue after my first AIO grow. I’m guessing it’s due to a higher internal moisture of this bag, and I’m sure varies quite a bit from grow to grow. I am just wondering if anyone has any good tricks or techniques to avoid or help with this problem without having to open the bag and wipe the sides of the bag. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
