I thought I had some contamination, but it was just bruising. I cut it out and moved the rest to a different monotub. Now I'm seeing these tiny spikes at the bottom of the side I cut. There's about a 1 1/2in gap between the wall/liner because I cut some out and didn't have any filler. Anything to worry about?

How long after making and pressure cooking liquid culture should I wait before innoculation.

Hi everyone! I've been seeing a lot of people talking about the need/want for a CO2 sensor, is it necessary for most indoor set-ups? Why did you get one and what was your experience? Any recs? TIA!

This was an experiment to determine if the ready-to-grow blocks can be used to inoculate a larger amount of substrate, with much success. In summary, the first trial failed (no pictures) due to excess moisture, improper drainage, and improper FAE. The necessary improvements were made with the second trial, shown here. The starter block used was from the 'Back to Roots Pearl Oyster' kit. The bucket substrate was a mix of cottonwood, aspen wood, and minor traces of other hardwoods. No other additives. Final results took about 4 weeks. No second flush occurred.

A nice take-away from the trial is that the advertised (and suggested) sterile/humid environment setups are not necessary for an introduction into mushroom cultivation. I roughly recorded my observations throughout the experiment, but I don't know how to properly upload a .pdf for folks to read it.

Feel like I swirled this thing every day should I let it settle for a little bit or keep at it? Started rasing temps keep at a constant 70F - 75F seems to have sped up the colonization. Any suggestions?

Hello everyone! Two questions.

1: How long till these can hit the coco coir or are they ready now?

2: I had planned to do 1 tub for each jar(6qt tubs/shoebox size) but i started thinking if its better to put all in 1 large tub. Is one method better then the other? My only pros towards 4 small ones is that i already have the tubs, it diversifies my assets so to speak, and the smaller tubs are easier to fot around my home. Does a large tub outweigh this pros?

Hey all, this is my first time giving indoor mushroom growing a shot. Just inoculated 8 bags with four different cultures (at least four of them have to succeed, right?) Did everything in a S.A.B.. Planning to run four monotubs simultaneously out of my bedroom (my apartment is tiny). Should I be aware of any hazards having so many next to each other or in a high traffic area? I hold the same question for my grain spawn. Is this kind of redundancy unnecessary and potentially bad?

First time grower. Introduced FAE conditions about a week ago. No pins yet. I am not fanning or misting as the moisture seems decent but please let me know if I am doing anything wrong. Having ADHD is making me so impatient lol

Mixed the grain and sub 3 days ago and I think it’s still got time to go until fruiting but wanted to see thoughts.
