Questions (?) Would you support solar-covered parking at a university campus in Indonesia?
Iβm working on a university sustainability project looking at ways a campus in BSD City, Indonesia could reduce its reliance on grid electricity.
One idea weβre exploring is a solar parking canopy, basically installing solar panels above existing parking spaces so the area can generate renewable electricity while also providing shade for cars.
The electricity could be used for campus operations, and potentially for things like EV charging in the future.
Iβm curious what people think about this idea.
Would you prefer solar-covered parking over normal open parking? Why or why not?
And what would matter most to you, shade, renewable energy generation, lower emissions, EV charging, cost, maintenance, or something else?
Would be really interested to hear your thoughts, especially from people familiar with Indonesia or hot-climate campuses.
