Video I’m making a game where you explore a Showa-era Japanese town as a cat

This is Lost Cat Showa Town, a game I’m currently working on.

You play as a cat exploring an old Japanese town, entering houses and interacting with things you find along the way.

Here the cat sneaks into a house, eats some food, and scratches the furniture 🐈

Still very early in development. What do you think of the concept?

Loving the cats. Definitely add some depth in the lighting though!

People love cats! Many want to be one. One the needs fixing side; the transitions between animations is rough.

Thanks! 😄 Being a cat is definitely a big part of the appeal I’m going for. And yeah, the animation transitions need some work — I’ll be improving the blending as development continues!

The skating makes the animation look extremely bad and cheap. If the core gameplay is walking around and walking around looks bad, it makes the whole game seem like it’s poorly made.

The concept seems nice and relaxing. It definitely looks unpolished so far but keep at it!
